I HAVE THE SOLUTION!

1) Really important to switch game language into english! Also be sure to disable ALL other mods in Steam Workshop! Furthermore it is important to have ALL expansions of Age2 HD!!!!
2) enable "The Lord of the Rings language(English and Chinese) in Steam Workshop and start the game. Now you can see Teutons as Gondor, Mongols as Rohan etc....Close the game!
3) enable "The Lord of the Rings mod" in Steam Workshop and start Game!
4) ENJOY!

I have the mod installed and all the dlcs but it wont let me enable the mod. How do I get it to let me enable?

now that aoe 2 DE is out i wanna see star wars galactic battle grounds definitive edition. That way the expanding fronts modders can finally have official developer cooperation and make their vision come to life. Happened before it can happen again.

You should update the civs and their units in this mod with the new skins in the ToME (Tales of middle earth) mod published on Voobly, Rhun, Khand etc. are all very accurate, new skins for archers and other units too. Would be cool if you made this update.

So I'm having a strange predicament. I just upgraded to a new computer and booted the game up for the first time. Spent some time making sure my mods were set up right, etc. Started a random map just to make things work, random civs for all players. And the civ and unit name's once the match was running was stuff that I'm 99% sure is from this mod. Which is strange, because although I've had my eye on it, I've NEVER downloaded it.

Any one have any idea how that happened?

Mod didnt work! Subscirbed both, mod and laguage set and no chance. Nothing change when i choose the Mod pack in menu, i cant choose a new LotR population.

hey man i cant seem to enable this mod and plus sometimes it just dosnt load when i play the campaign it just keeps saying FILES missing..

Best mod i've ever downloaded by far, added many more hours of excited gameplay for aoe2. The only thing that confused me was that one of the trolls is a bugbear, and some of the orcs and wolfriders are clearly ripped from Icewindale 2. It killed some of the immersiveness.

This mod uses graphics taken without permission from the Tales of Middle Earth mod, ported in a most amateur and lazy manner. Tales of Middle Earth is the greater mod, go play that, don't give this "creator" any attention.

it's just two folders, paste the two files in the "common" folder and you will improve the experience dramatically.
