I usually play in maps I am used to, I hate winter or summer all year long and like to see snow once, I've been making cold snaps with dev but they aren't permanent. I hope this helps me.

Made an update of this for RimWorld 1.1
https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2024296023
Hope it helps anyone!
Do0m[y] 22 febr. 2020 la 5:28
Hello,

Are you planing to update your mod for the 1.1 version, please?
Raggsockan 3 febr. 2020 la 10:01
This will keep decreasing temp in second colony, way lower even when turned to normal cycle. Fixed by removing in save file.
Flying Lizard 10 dec. 2019 la 16:49
So... will there ever be an update that fixes the climate cycle reseting every time you caravan somewhere else? Or does anyone know of a mod that DOES keep the cycle consistent across maps?
Ryan 9 oct. 2019 la 17:39
is the normal cycle supposed to constantly get more extreme? colony started with a 70 F to -50 F range and is now 140 F to -130 F at year 8.
^5Cirno-09 26 aug. 2019 la 23:50
how cold is the "Winter is Coming" can get? Will it keep getting colder and colder or will it stop at some point?
Demetrio 23 aug. 2019 la 19:51
Pardon my Ignorance, but how the Temp multiplier work exactly? The vanilla temp range is -20 and +20, but what is the base value u use to multiply? if I set it to 2 will my temperature range from -40 and +40?
lilwhitemouse 4 mai 2019 la 19:02
...

The temperature at just-before midnight of Jugust was 18C. The temperature at 0h of Septober is -35C.

That seems a sudden for winter to waltz...er...sprint in, no?
Mehni  [autor] 2 mai 2019 la 22:03
There are two other cycles which already do that. Set a short cycle for "Waiting for the sun" and it will get toasty sooner or later.

There's another climate cycle mod which might also do it
aabaz202 3 ian. 2019 la 16:33
Only with this mod do I have the “heatstroke” alert and the “need warmer clothes” alert at the same time lol. In my first year I went from 150 F to -180 F. Love it
Mehni  [autor] 10 dec. 2018 la 3:21
That was the purpose behind it! Enjoy :D
Mehni  [autor] 10 dec. 2018 la 1:18
Yep.
Mehni  [autor] 2 nov. 2018 la 0:55
Seems like it got taken down from Steam. It can still be found on GitHub if you search the following list: https://github.com/AaronCRobinson?tab=repositories

Marvinkosh also has a temperature changing mod; what used to be called Solar Apocalypse & Rogue Planet is now called Disasters. I haven't seen a Steam release yet but you might be able to find it in his comment section/ludeon thread/personal website.

What happend to the Extreme Colds mod?
Kelowna 1 nov. 2018 la 19:42
It's okay, I do not have a functional brain either.
Mehni  [autor] 1 nov. 2018 la 2:31
Unfortunately yes. It's a part of the scenario, which can't be edited in-game when a colony started.

You can add it by editing your savefile directly if you have a good text editor and a functional brain, but I will not provide guidance on that due to my lacking the latter.
Kelowna 31 oct. 2018 la 20:47
Does step 2 mean I have to make a new colony if this mod is going to work?
Mehni  [autor] 25 oct. 2018 la 22:30
It goes up a little bit, then down a lot. Then up a little bit, then down a lot. Etc etc etc. It may rise to normal temperatures during that peak, but the overall trend is down.
Trespassers William 25 oct. 2018 la 14:00
For "Winter is coming," does the temp cycle back to the original?
Mehni  [autor] 24 oct. 2018 la 0:04
What settings do you have for it? Deviations of ±100 are pretty extreme, it takes a bit (i.e. years) to ramp up to those kind of temperatures.

Also, as the most basic question, does your scenario have the Climate Cycle+ rather than the Climate Cycle? You set that in the scenario editor, before you generate a world.

In the colony it'll show bottom right near the time controls etc, "Climate Cycle+" rather than "Climate Cycle"
NilchEi 23 oct. 2018 la 16:06
Thank you! Unfortunately Climate Cycle+ seem to be acting as normal Climate Cycle for me, instead of causing ±100 deviances, and I'm not sure why :(
Mehni  [autor] 23 oct. 2018 la 13:10
Done.
Mehni  [autor] 19 oct. 2018 la 22:47
Yep.
NilchEi 19 oct. 2018 la 18:40
Are there any plans ro update this mod?
Gallonidas 5 oct. 2018 la 6:38
Mahni - Complementing what dninemfive said: you can have 2 sliders, 1 for amplitude and 1 for direction. Also I realized that the mod is not working with decimal numbers for the multiplier. I have two game saves 1 I used to go for 1.5x and the other for 0.8x (I didn't mind changing manually)... guess now both are 1 ? Can you revert please ?
Mehni  [autor] 28 sept. 2018 la 22:08
@dninefive That's a great idea! Will do.
dninemfive 28 sept. 2018 la 13:28
@Mehni I was just looking at updating my own mod and realized it would be far better as part of this one: can you add a custom offset to the climate cycle, so for example the temperature variance is -30 to +10 instead of the default ±20?
UndeadEchoes 17 febr. 2018 la 12:24
Thanks for the support Mehni. I have to say it has been one of my favorite mods so far! Keep up the great work!
Mehni  [autor] 15 febr. 2018 la 2:20
Thanks!

Looks like you're off to a good start there, I'll be following along.
UndeadEchoes 15 febr. 2018 la 0:56
Hey awesome mod! I've been really enjoying it so far. So much so I started a Rimworld series on YouTube highlighting it. Here is a link to episode 1! https://youtu.be/EdikYh_PSCY
Bistou 14 febr. 2018 la 15:39
Is the extreme climate only for the tile we are actually on or globally ? like if i caravan somewhere and settle in a new tile the temperature will be back to normal ?
Mehni  [autor] 10 febr. 2018 la 5:38
That's out of scope. Would cost too much effort for no benefit.
The MacGovern 10 febr. 2018 la 5:22
How hard would it be to change the world-map to reflect the warmer temperatures? Given the Beta version allows for actual modification of the world-map, it would be nice to see the ice begin to melt as the rimworld slowly approaches the sun, and vice-versa.
Mehni  [autor] 24 ian. 2018 la 23:15
It's easy enough to edit your savefile. Compare one savefile with the climate cycle and one without. There will be two different spots you'll need to copy-paste over. The most important one is in the GameConditionManager. Make back-ups, I'm not responsible if something breaks. ;-)

As for the settings: yup
Bistou 24 ian. 2018 la 21:53
Aww so there is no way to add it to a game that did not start with it in the scenario ?
and so if i set a higher multiplier i can get extreme condition rather quickly and then lower it so it doesn't go extremer to fast ?
Davadin 24 ian. 2018 la 10:15
Good to know! Thanks for the answers!
Mehni  [autor] 24 ian. 2018 la 10:09
Not reliably. I have that planned as an option, but it's a lot of work.
Davadin 24 ian. 2018 la 9:17
Are raiders able to keep up with their gear?
Mehni  [autor] 24 ian. 2018 la 8:43
Depends a bit on what biome you pick, but temperatures will be quite uncomfortable after 5 years. More extreme biomes after 2-3.

If you set a lower multiplier in the mod settings, you can hold out for 15 years.
Davadin 24 ian. 2018 la 8:33
So how quick is this climate change happening? Am I seeing a planet covered in ice after 5 years, 15 years, 50 years?
Mehni  [autor] 19 ian. 2018 la 8:40
Fixed. Update pushed. Thanks for the bug report!
theheckromancer 18 ian. 2018 la 21:09
I'm noticing that the mod seems to reset from "Winter is coming" to "regular cycle" everytime I relaunch the game, is there a way to fix this?
challengingrealityagain 14 ian. 2018 la 9:45
thank you :D
Mehni  [autor] 14 ian. 2018 la 0:28
In the preview image there's a red/blue line, indicating temperatue. It goes up and down a whole lot, but overall its trend is flat.

If you're using the Waiting for the Sun setting, that trend is upwards. There might be temporary dips in temperate, but in the long-term it's heating up.

It's the opposite for the Winter is Coming setting. Despite occasional warming up, the temperature is dropping.
challengingrealityagain 13 ian. 2018 la 14:59
Which setting does what, I'm a little confused? I know the first one is just the normal climate cycle on extreme setting but what about the other two?
Mehni  [autor] 13 ian. 2018 la 7:25
@Gnaa: Yes.

@†ree Root Climber: There are no breaks on this ship.
SirLalaPyon 13 ian. 2018 la 6:52
or does it have a max temp?
SirLalaPyon 13 ian. 2018 la 6:52
does it get colder/hotter infinitely? or when its get colder and colder then summer comes the temp goes back to normal?
