Just remember, the vast majority of modders are not paid for their work.
Those that make it into the sponsored mod program (which is just a few each year) are paid, but they have to spend many hours, often hundreds of hours working for free, with no guarantee of ever getting paid, to make something cool enough for WC to want to sponsor it. They spend hours of their free time making mods for fun, and sometimes paying for models or textures out of their own money, because they love the game. If they no longer have time to update their mods, that's ok. They shouldn't be required to keep giving us their time for free forever.

My general rule of thumb is if it was last updated more than a year but less than 2 years ago it's probably fine, maybe some minor bugs or might not include stuff from the more recent maps. If it's from like 2020 I will want to be more careful, maybe try it on my testing server first to make sure it still works. If it's from 2019 or earlier, I probably won't use it, unless it's really unique and I can't find anything recent that has what I'm looking for, and I'll want to do a lot of testing before adding it to a server for others to play on. With the ARKitects though, we have used mods as old as 2017-2018, as long as it's pretty simple and at least whatever parts we want to use for a video or whatever, are still working well enough for our purposes.

Honestly, it's not the modder's fault.... it's actually WC changing and patching things, that tends to break mods. So depending on what WC has done, an old mod may work perfectly still, if none of the files it depends on have been changed, or it may have some minor bugs, or it may be completely non-operational or crash your game.

@Oriberus What Filip said. Unfortunately there aren't any tutorials like that out there that I know of for ark. Best I can say is follow the blueprints that are already in the kit. A good one to look at is the manticore skins, for example. You should be able to switch out the meshes and textures for your skin. Just make sure to make a copy of the blueprint in your mod file. You don't ever want to change base game files.

@Oriberus i usually just duplicate an existing skin item, change the mesh and properties, then add an engram entry and add both to the item and added engram list respectively

So... I'm not sure what was going on... Maybe it's a mod conflict with this and the NPC characters in the Capitalism Props mod, idk

All I know is, I tried putting a chest piece with the female crop top skin and paints with the swim trunks on a female NPC item in the Capitalism Props mod. I don't know if it's because I also tried coloring them or not, but my game had 2 or 3 15-30 second lag spikes before ultimately freezing up my game where I had to force close

Hello, is there a complete spawn code list?
The current one doesn't appear to have everything.

@Heimdall Thank you! It may not seem so, but figuring out clothes and "good" hair is pretty difficult and not the sort of thing that most modders are interested in. It takes a lot of work to make custom models, and difficult to figure out how to get the effects you want. One reason why dresses/skirts/capes and the like are not in from me yet is because I'm trying to figure out how to make them move realisticly in Ark. I'm all self-taught through and through so its a process and lots of trial and error.

Excelent mod, surprised we don't have piles of clothing modders, where are all those skyrim fellows? Very happy with this Banthafodder and thank you.

Hey Krytxx, loved your stuff for a long time and I'm on RPFirst and have been since the beginning basically.

I've been told you're really busy and not to bother you so I won't but I was wondering if you could some day get the male armor working on women.

Currently, I'm learning how to mod myself and if I ever get anything finished and good I'll send it to you to put on the mod if you'd like.

I have run into a small issue with this mod, our server cluster runs either Amazonia arks beauty or Au Naturelle and the static meshes of these skins don't seem to adjust to the character mesh. This issue affects the female mesh mostly as it causes her two "friends" to push out of the mesh completely. Is there any chance to resolve this and have the skins take mesh adjustments into account?

(one mod that doesn't seem to have any issue is the steampunk bodysuit mod, but of course my girl doesn't always want to run around in the same outfit.)

Hm I love the idea of this mod as ARK really lacks character customization. But it's a little too small. Don't get me wrong there is probably a lot of work put into. If you could find a few more people designing clothes and armors and unite them in the mod it would be fantastic!

All of this mod are skins. They go on an existing piece of armor (drag to armor in your inventory), and then apply when placed in the armor slot.

I've already made the suggestion over at ARK official forums to add a cape/cloak slot to characters. In order to do that, WC would almost have to add animations/etc (flowing/etc) making a modder's life a bit easier.

They've took a couple of my suggestions so far, for bug fixes/etc, so hopefully they'll grab this one and run with it too.
