Sheesh this was a while ago
golden monty 13. juni 2020 kl. 23:40
do i need to make a new game in order for this mod to work?
"The" SeanMacLeod 7. sep. 2019 kl. 20:03
@Michael
I think it only allows colonists to make stone walls smooth, not to place them.
Michael 7. sep. 2019 kl. 13:55
Question! Is this mod so you can PLACE smooth walls?
@RF

All right. I get it. People want to etch walls. So, yes, I'm working on a 1.0 update. Might actually be ready later tonight, but if not, I should certainly be able to release it tomorrow night.

+1 Dwarf approved
Firrae 21. okt. 2018 kl. 9:20
Thanks for all the fish duder. This mod was awesome and I'm sure it's why it got added to vanillia.
UltraDelux 18. okt. 2018 kl. 21:17
honestly i would be very pleased if you would make a mod for the new versions that only incorporated the wall art bit. anyways, this is how it ought to be. all the best mods should simply already have been part of the game. +!0 points
Dumbledood 11. okt. 2018 kl. 14:58
It wasn't just silly eye candy, it was a really neat extension of the idea. Nonetheless, I'm not complaining. Thanks for making a mod that made it into the base game!
JaeTheFiberMystic 8. okt. 2018 kl. 9:26
I loved the etched brick function in this mod!
Shadow-kon 4. okt. 2018 kl. 7:17
just thank you inspired the acual game makers to add something ingame you should be proud
Ricky Stanicky【ツ】 29. sep. 2018 kl. 13:18
the best part about this mod was that you could etch walls to make them look like they were made from brick. now if you have to fill in a whole the wall with bricks you have to replace the walls around them too
baconaut 20. sep. 2018 kl. 10:55
Thanks for the mod, it really fit my playstyle nicely. I'll be keeping an eye on it if you choose to update :)
Tofemaster 14. sep. 2018 kl. 23:48
+1 update motivation
Gunseeker 14. sep. 2018 kl. 20:14
hey this is one of my favorite mods because of how simplistic it is and yet how this concept is so useful, and i miss it so much in b19. I'd love it if you can add it to b19 but if you cant that's okay aswell. thanks!
MrAxist 11. sep. 2018 kl. 9:40
Thanks Rainbeau for willing to continue support for this great mod!
_♣Caligula♣_ 11. sep. 2018 kl. 9:38
Great news :)
Bridges would be an idea since the ones in the game are rather weak.
E-Claire  [ophavsmand] 11. sep. 2018 kl. 8:43
Hi, all. Sorry for the long absence. I'll take a look at what vanilla now allows, and see if it seems like this mod would be worth updating. No promises, though. I'm not likely to get back into modding as heavily as I was last year, so I'll have to pick and choose projects a bit more carefully. ;)

@Butterg0lem_1510
I couldn't agree more, especially feritle fields.
_♣Caligula♣_ 5. sep. 2018 kl. 13:50
Vanilla one lacks a lot from this imo. Updates for all of his mods would be greatly appreciated.

@Gallonidas It isn't nearly as polished.
Gallonidas 29. aug. 2018 kl. 14:11
@Thesmartone777 This is in-game (vanilla) for beta 0.19
Thesmartone777 29. aug. 2018 kl. 4:22
b19?
Brackishclover7 7. aug. 2018 kl. 9:18
Amazing mod, thank you for making this!
Equil 29. juli 2018 kl. 0:48
As someone who's not super concerned with balance, is there a way to change how long it takes for pawns to smooth walls?
LetterShapedGlyphs 2. juli 2018 kl. 14:30
Just uploaded my derivative mod to the workshop (Search for Engraved Walls), which ties in engraved walls to the vanilla art system for scaling beauty and procedurally generated descriptions!

Thanks for this awesome mod!
It seems that while you can build power conduits under smoothed walls, you can't smooth rough stone walls that already have power conduits on them. So you need to deconstruct the power conduits, then smooth the walls, then rebuild the conduits; not sure if that's fixable but I thought I'd point it out
Thanks again :ftlhuman:
Feufolli 27. apr. 2018 kl. 12:56
Being able to decorate the walls to make art is great, but is it able to, anyhow, do it on constructed walls?
My mountain base has no longer natural walls as I had to raplace them.
Ankara Pepsi 26. apr. 2018 kl. 21:39
Question: Can you run conduit wires through these walls or no?
E-Claire  [ophavsmand] 30. mar. 2018 kl. 8:51
@Dragonslaier: No, you can't "smooth" a constructed wall. Not only does the idea just not make much sense, but the process of smoothing is specifically intended to make a *natural* wall look and act more like a constructed wall. If you're concerned about having your walls match, simply "etch" the smoothed walls to make them look like your constructed walls.
Penguinator 29. mar. 2018 kl. 15:26
will it ever be possible to smooth player built stone walls? Trying to build a base with smooth stone walls is annoying when youhave 8 different types of walls.
Modern ☭ 28. mar. 2018 kl. 5:03
Can't cancel the smooth stone action.
Pinenuts 18. mar. 2018 kl. 12:48
Hey I made a Korean translation file. Could you add it if I give you the link(google)?
TheMaster1 14. mar. 2018 kl. 20:17
Question: Does this affect the chance spawn of an infestation? I think smooth floors and built walls reduce the chance of them to occur.
LionelCG 4. mar. 2018 kl. 14:59
Great mod, thanks for updating :)
XHAlpha 27. feb. 2018 kl. 16:34
Ive noticed that since a18, my colonists will not willingly etch walls that ive smooth, i have to micromanage every single one.. quite annoying, but only issue i have with this great mod
Detomeki 19. feb. 2018 kl. 23:14
finally
E-Claire  [ophavsmand] 16. feb. 2018 kl. 10:25
@Jazz: I'm afraid I have no idea what you're talking about. This mod produces smooth walls, not brick walls. Those smooth walls can then be etched so that they *look* like brick walls, but they're still a separate entity, and not actual brick walls.
Hinkypuff 16. feb. 2018 kl. 9:20
#DFFeels
Jazz 16. feb. 2018 kl. 0:03
But it's not smooth, it's a brick wall. That doesn't make any sense.
horis97 13. feb. 2018 kl. 5:30
love this mod gives me a bit more of a dwarf fortress vive to the game and handy all the same
E-Claire  [ophavsmand] 12. feb. 2018 kl. 7:55
@PewPew: You *can* run power conduits through smoothed walls. One of the points of the mod is to allow you to do that.
F9minus9 9. feb. 2018 kl. 13:17
anyway to mod this so you can actually run power conduits through it?
Nicorc 3. feb. 2018 kl. 9:50
Minor bug report: So when I booted up today, I discovered that a couple of my doors had turned into etched walls of the same material. If I recall correctly, they were doors that had been placed on etched walls a while back, so I think the mod/game may have forgotten that they were supposed to be doors now and turned them back into walls somehow.

I'm not really sure if it is this mod specifically that is responsible, though I can't think of why any of the other mods I have would have done that. But I thought I would let you know incase anyone else is experiencing this.
Nicorc 3. feb. 2018 kl. 9:47
@Geethebluesky have you tried using the cancel tool in the Architect tab? That always works for me.
Geethebluesky 3. feb. 2018 kl. 8:08
Minor bug report: I added your mod to an existing map (haven't tried with a brand new one yet). I changed my mind about a section of wall previously designated to be smoothed, and set it to be mined instead. The mining is done but unfortunately the diamond icon set by your mod remains even after the wall is gone.
Megidorino 2. feb. 2018 kl. 13:27
MY OCD HAPPILY OBLIGES TO TAKE THIS MOD AND GIVE IT A THUMBS-UP
