I actually color-picked from textures within tf2’s game files, I think they’re okay 👌
WENDYN 7. juli 2018 kl. 8:14
It' so unsaturated... I think it doesn't fit much to TF2 style...
Testing 10. mar. 2018 kl. 16:08
I'm still praying this gets added. But in case it doesn't.... can you post how it would look like on the Medigun?
BIG IRON 8. mar. 2018 kl. 13:14

I feel like this could fit into the games color scheme quite nicely!

This has potential.

Best Skin i've ever seen so far c:
SCARY and EVIL 9. nov. 2017 kl. 15:20
This is great. It really looks like something that Valve themselves would make.
Pandorus 8. nov. 2017 kl. 1:50
Very nice and clean skin!
I'd say at least High-tier Mecenary grade woth 1.5 keys at FN!
Galaxander 7. nov. 2017 kl. 17:29
Thank you, that makes sense now. This helps explain why so many existing skins look awful to me as well, haha. Here's hoping for more fixed-orientation paints in the future.
junimoosh  [ophavsmand] 7. nov. 2017 kl. 17:14
So the way things work is that with every war paint you unbox, it makes a random seed for the orientation and size of the patterns that are on that skin. Because of this, every single unbox of the same skin (Civil Servant, for example) are 100% unique. Some will be diagonal with a smaller pattern, some will be straight-on horizontal or vertical in accordance to the weapon.

Some newer war paints though, have fixed orientations for the skin pattern but have other randomized aspects to it like its color. Macaw Masked is a great example of fixed orientation that I'd love to have for this skin! It'd be nice to have control of this feature for war paints made in the future, but I simply cannot do this part of war paint creation because this is something the TF2 Team does in-house. Fingers crossed community creators get more options to do something like this on our own someday!

Hopefully this all makes sense, and many many thanks!

Thank you for the answer. So the twisted appearance just a quirk of the way a community creator makes those in-game screenshots, but if it were made official it would be oriented correctly?

btw I think almost all war paints look terrible, but this one I like. Nice job!

@Muhai: There's no way to add a custom normal map. As far as I'm aware, war paints do not currently support normal maps, but only alphas at the moment for phong values. I could be wrong, though!

@Lazer: The only way I can make a war paint straight the way I want it is through War Paint previews, unfortunately. If I could set up parameters so I could get it like that in-game inspect animations I definitely would, but there's no tools (ala CS:GO's weapon skin publishing tools) that give me the power to do so. This is as close as I could get it with a modded Civil Servant weapon skin for now! Idealistically, I'd love for the TF2 Team to set up orientation like in the other weapon previews if it ever gets accepted! It's just something that's out of my control for now.

How come in the first person screenshots the stripe seems to spiral a bit, but then in the other pics it's straight?
Bufflehead 7. nov. 2017 kl. 1:12
@Muhai, Are you asking what map the pictuses are on? because that's rd_asteroid.
Muhai 6. nov. 2017 kl. 22:56
does this include a normal map? or is that just specific highlighted areas on the spec map?
Ronin The Greye 6. nov. 2017 kl. 19:00
This is the best war paint I have seen.
Testing 6. nov. 2017 kl. 18:58
We need more skins like this thare are nice and simple. I mean there is a bit of a pattern to this but for the most part it just changes the colors a bit and maybe adds a stripe, which is really nice.
Bufflehead 6. nov. 2017 kl. 8:36
this should be added when robot destruction comes back. If it comes back. (I miss those little robots)
Kranot 6. nov. 2017 kl. 6:06
this makes me MOIST
The Dumbass Crusader 6. nov. 2017 kl. 4:56
