@Die_ananaswandtapete: it works with any mp3 file. Just make sure it's in the same folder as the other and the filename doesnt have weird characters.

Because I downloaded only 1 mp3 file straight from a website, and the rest doesn´t work because i got it from youtube, though, I don´t see how that could be a problem

Does it work when an mp3 file is installed from youtube or does it only work if it´s downloaded?

Guesseur09125: I believe it is possible via steamworks, but most of the time servers have the audio files included with the maps, so it's pretty much redundant. And imo I think people can abuse it to have user auto-download any kind of files.

@RedSigma do you have an idea to make player have the files getting placed by himself with a content or script that i put in the collection ?

@Guesseur09125: Players need to have the same music file in their folder as well. Read the `How To add songs` section from the description.

Also i recommend to not have weird symbols in the filename but just numbers and letters.

Hello, i want to put this addon on my server but other players cant hear the music, do i have to add it in server folder (if yes wich one and where) or simply tell the player to add it aswell ?

If you are getting not on disk error... Just rename the song without spaces and all small letters and no special chars... I am not sure which one of these are necessary, but that's what i did

@3_kuznetsov_3: If that error shows up, the filename either has weird letters (in this case it will be ignored because of gmod limitations) or it's not in the right folder. Check the description where you need to place the file. Place it somewhere like garrysmod/sound/MyCustomSounds/

I don't understand why this doesn't come out not on disk, creator, why don't you make a video tutorial explaining what to do, I think it would be easier for people

@Toby270GTX9008: Atm, working on this mod is not my priority. I do still work on it when I have time. It's a bit more time consuming that I initially expected. I am still trying to keep the client side section functional to some extent so any reported bugs on github will be checked.

@ImEFE: try to rename the .mp3 file. If it has weird letters then gmod wont find it.

@AdmiT: to use it you:

Press F3 to open/close the player.

And to add songs you do these steps:

1. Press the settings icon near the close button.
2. Click on the Music Dirs button from the right side menu
3. Select the folders on the left list that contains audio files
4. Press the top button that add them
5. They should now show on the right list
6. Switch back to the music list and you should see your songs


PS: the multiplayer side doesnt work properly. It's a work in progress

@Bisz: If you have any issues please report them on github or on the discussion page (links in the descriptions). Please give as many details as you can otherwise I cannot fix it. Besides that a future update is in the works which I dont know when it's gonna be released due to other things happening over my side.

@RedSigma I read the problems tab on the GMod menu and it says "infinite ammo" addon is conflicting with gplayer

@RedSigma it may be because some of the addons I have cause problems, the only one that causes errors that I want to keep is one of the addons that gives special commands, can't remember if it's Dlib or ULX but I will uninstall some addons and see if that helps

@RedSigma for some reason the addon isn't working, I have it downloaded and I've tried to use the commands listed in the description but for some reason it keeps saying "unknown command" and when I press f3 nothing shows up

@GutenTag: After that you need to open the music player , go to the music dirs tab and your subfolder should show up there. Select it and press Add to add it to the right list of active folders

PS: I am working on a rework for this thing but it's very slow.

I'm insanely confused. I created the "sound" folder in the garrysmod folder, created another folder in there, and then put my music in. Still didn't work. Any help please?

i use https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2829170926 with everything downloaded and it seems that that addon and this addon https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=872114763 even when turned on separately just breaks the music player.
