The problem appears persistent with a lot of custom hats at the moment. If you exit out of team builder after selecting a hat and then reenter it, the custom hat you've selected will appear. Attempting to select the hat from the list of hats will create the black square, but the hat will still work in game. From the looks of things, Team17 have been looking into the problem since the beginning of March.

@Regal Rabbit yeah, I'll need to figure out what the problem with that is. It broke after the most recent cosmetic update, iirc.

Warning to future downloaders: The create-a-team screen preview is broken, but the hat DOES display in-game.
