VW Brazil is owned by VW Germany, making it a German-owned company, (although the vehicles VW Brazil produces are Brazilian as they are made using Brazilian-made parts to a Brazilian design based off of German models and sold almost exclusively in South America) whereas Polski-Fiat was owned by the Polish government, not by Fiat.

Polski-Fiat is the same car, with some parts being "worse" (more robust), and without major changes, it was built under Polish brand (with Fiat in name) and suddenly it becomes a Polish car? Yes. If a country license-builds a vehicle from another country, by a company not owned by one from the original country, the vehicles they produce are owned by the country that produced them. That is why the Lada Riva is a Russian car, the Hispano Aviación HA-1112 is a Spanish aircraft, the BT-42 is a Finnish tank, and the Polski-Fiat 126 is Polish.
Steve 10. sep. 2017 kl. 2:17
So you're saying that the Hispano Aviación HA-1112 is a German aircraft? That Holden is an American company? That the GAZ-AAA and ZiS-5 are American vehicles? That the IJN Kongo was a British warship?
You said that the Lada Riva was sufficiently different from the Fiat 124 that it is a Russian car. At what point does a vehicle become different enough in its design to become a car of the country that designed those changes? Early Ladas were very similar to the 124. Modifications were pretty much in the same vein as the PS 126's modifications - cheaper, more robust.
Also, you're saying that Polski-Fiat is an Italian brand? Mind you don't say that in Poland - the dresiarz would disagree.

dobra prace ,super auto.....:steamhappy::steamhappy::steamhappy:
Alberto Barbosa 9. sep. 2017 kl. 17:21
@SirKittalot So basically, polski fiat 126, is a same car, but with some parts being worse, and without major changes, it was built under polish brand(with a fiat in name).
And suddenly it becomes, a polish car.

Come on, that's stupid. Logic like that, would make brazilian vw, a brazilian brand. But somehow, it's not.

" Also, Fiat only made around 1.3 million Fiat 126s, whereas Polski-Fiat built over 3.3 million."
Not an argument.

"there is a difference between the two cars"
Slight differences, not major ones. These two are still, basically same cars.
Steve 9. sep. 2017 kl. 16:11
The Fiat 126 is an Italian car, and always will be an Italian car. The Polski-Fiat 126, however, is a Polish car, built by Polski-Fiat, which is a seperate company not directly owned by Fiat. That is the major distinction. They had to purchase licenses from Fiat in order to build their cars. It was created in 1932 by the Polish government to build vehicles originally designed by Fiat, with Polish modifications, such as the 621 truck which served Poland in WW2.
The PS 126 featured more robust suspension and bodywork than its Italian counterpart, as well as cheaper upholstery and lights. It is a different car to the Italian 126. Also, Fiat only made around 1.3 million Fiat 126s, whereas Polski-Fiat built over 3.3 million. Fiat-built 126s are Italian, Polski-Fiat built 126s are Polish. There is a difference between the two cars and the companies that made them, despite the fact that they originated from the same design.
Alberto Barbosa 9. sep. 2017 kl. 5:42
@SirKittalot No offense, but that's actually pretty retarded. You're saying, that 126 is an italian car, but when it was built on polish license, it suddenly turned polish? Wasn't it basically, a same car, but with worse interior?

And comparison with riva, is far from correct. In riva almost everything was changed, to the point, where it was a different car to 124.
Steve 9. sep. 2017 kl. 0:32
It's a Polish car. The Fiat 126 is an Italian car, and the license-built Finot is a Polish car. In the same way that the Fiat 124 is an Italian car, while the Lada Riva is very much a Russian car, despite the fact that it is pretty much the same car.
Alberto Barbosa 8. sep. 2017 kl. 17:44
@Eddek_PL But it doesn't change a thing, because it's like saying, that Opel, or other brand is polish, because most of it factories are in poland, or something. Not to mention, that 126 wasn't design in poland, but in italy. Designing, and testing a car, it's like inventing something new, and saying, that it was polish car, it's nothing more, than stealing.

I understand, that this car, is a huge part of polish motorisation, but come on. 126 isn't even worth it, because it was a terrible car. I'm sure you guys had some decent cars in past, why steal this one?

To jest pierszy polski samochód!!!
Edd 8. sep. 2017 kl. 7:13
@Alberto Barbosa True, FIAT is Italian, however it was made in Italy for only 8 years in virtually unchanged setup (totaling in ~1.8M cars), when in Poland it was in production since 1973 until late year 2000 (~3.3M) as 126p and was upgraded and modified during production.
Alberto Barbosa 7. sep. 2017 kl. 16:26
@Brodacz [PL] @ZYXAXO @Tomy_Gra guys, it's not polish. Fiat is an italian brand(Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino).
