@adverl RPGO revised all upgrades so you don't get free reloads... So this mod is useless for it

I just redownloaded this game, and this mod no longer function, now after uninstalling the subcription and redownloading it it is still not detectable.

Is this not working with the RPGO auto-loader (ie. Auto reload 1 ammo per turn to a maximum of 4/6/8)?

Works smoothly with LWOTC. Only little glitch is that standard reload icon will apear green while it is still an ending turn move. One of those mods that should have been in the base game. Great work !

Really cool idea for a mod but it's too buggy to use. Even loading from campaign screen it messes up auto-loaders in my campaign.

are there any notable incompatibilities with this mod? I haven't deliberately tested it but in my current campaign I do remember noticing that there wasn't a separate free reload button. I have no doubt this is a mod incompatibility if its truly a bug at all (and my memory isn't just lying to me) but I wanted to check if there were any known incompats. It's not a big loss if I can't figure it out but I definitely do like having this mod if I can find a way to keep it.

I'd love some additional options on this mod.I think it would be cool (and "realistic") if the standard reload would take a whole turn or be turn-ending, to account for the time needed to prepare a new double-magazine. In that case, it would arguably make sense to also gain back the free reload if it's already used, could be optional though.

Great idea but unfortunately there is a bug that restores the number of free reloads upon loading the game mid-mission. I would have loved to use this but that's a deal breaker.

If the number of free reload charges is not persistent after saving and reloading, the bug has to do with the BuildNewGameStateFn.

I had the same problem when troubleshooting Richard's Limited Reloads mod which also uses a custom reload. The solution was to set the BuildNewGameStateFn = TypicalAbility_BuildGameState and then add a reload effect instead.

I used the X2Effect_ReloadPrimaryWeapon effect from Favid's Extended Perk pack and it fixed the persistence issue.

God damn do I hate that I'm even bringing this up, but: Should you use a Free Reload and then save the game during a tactical mission, the use doesn't get saved through sessions. Your single-use auto-loader ends up being pretty bottomless throughout the course of a mission if you should save and load the game again. I'll have to actively avoid making use of this bug.

@mustyyyyy You must not have read the description. It makes it so that Reload and Free Reload both exist as options at once so that if you've got a spare action you don't have to waste your free reload when you want to do a regular reload. You're now Free to Reload Anytime.

ok it is working.. but it is not doing what it's name makes you think it does.. it doesnt provide you any free reloads. It is just showing you how much free reloads you have if you have the required upgrade for the weapon you use..

It adds a prototype auto-loader which gives unlimited free reloads, but when combining with this, the free reload does show up.

Oh, I didn't realize it was a mod showing the charges. I thought it was part of the base game. Turns out it's being caused by CostBasedAbilityColors. Thankfully they have an ini setting to disable it.

Interesting concept, but I have a bug to report.

The original free reload still shows the number of reloads (for example, "x1"), however it is still a standard reload.

FYI, ExtendedUpgrades is a part of RPG Overhaul mod. It is not a standalone mod.

I see in logs, that your mod patches ReloadUpgrade_Bsc|Adv|Sup, then ExtendedUpgrades mod also patching these entites. Could it be cause of the issue?

Installed and enabled this mod, started a new mission and... nothing happens. Still autoreloading at every turn end. No button, nothing. It means - mod not working? Or I miss something.

@bg: I'm terribly sorry to bother you but that's a recurrent thing... any solution idea? I'm writing because am struggling with CTD and FPS issues while no other mod seems off. Feels like savegames are getting corrupted somehow, because of FPS fluctuation and files failing to overwrite, out of order and even with wrongful snapshot picture on, weird.

Smells like corrupted save games, where the charges of abilities don't even get loaded properly so it asks for the initial charges again.
