I already killed both turrets by the time I got to the cube, what is it for? When I put the sphere in the sphere contanor I just portaled up to the exit door.

The cube is not only there to help you doesn't it is not necessary to use it to solve

I made a demo that you can download here [www.yousendit.com]. In my first go I did also take care of the other turret with the sphere but didn't see any need to do so in the demo

Yes, that was fun and a little challenging. Is there any intended use for the cube? And for the orange gel? I couldn't find any.
