Apex Spawn Logic Changes

Note: Apex Faction means any of the following factions: Beastmen, Witches or Bloodsuckers

If you have fought an Apex Faction recently (within 15 battles), their spawn chances are significantly reduced, such that the other factions are more likely to spawn. If you have fought all 3 factions within 15 battles, then they each will have equal spawn chance during the next encounter.

Example: If you encounter Beastmen, then Witches/Bloodsuckers will have a higher spawn chance. Afterwards, if you encounter Witches, Bloodsuckers will have the highest spawn chance. Once you encounter Bloodsuckers, all 3 factions are equally likely to spawn.

Note: Bait Items ignore these logic changes, and the corresponding faction will still be allowed to spawn consecutively

Lair Map Spawn Logic Changes

After defeating any Apex Lair Boss, the drop rate of that Lair's Map is permanently reduced, such that the other faction's Lair Maps are more likely to drop next time. This DOES NOT prevent Lair Maps from dropping, and if all 3 faction Lairs have been completed, they will have equal drop chances.

Note: Bait Items ignore these logic changes, and the corresponding map will still be allowed to drop consecutively

If using Bait Items, Lair Maps for the corresponding faction are also increased

Example: If using Alluring Blood (Bloodsucker Bait), you're significantly more likely to get Lair Map (Courtier) when delivering Map Scraps


Bait Changes

1. Bait Items are now free (before: Cost 10 Baubles)

2. Bait Items no longer expire (before: expired after 1 Inn)

Bug Fixes

1. Fixed Bloodsuckers not spawning during road encounters in some circumstances

Confession Compatibility Improvements

1. In Confessions, Bloodsucker enemies will behave the same as their Escalation 3 counterparts.

2. In Confessions, the Hive Battle Modifier will behave the same as in Escalation 3.

3. In Confessions, the Archduke's Hive buff will behave appropriately.


The Cure changes

The Cure is no longer guaranteed from Hospitals. Instead, it has the following spawn rates (Confessions/Kingdoms):

If 1 or less Heroes in your party have Crimson Curse:

Region/Escalation 1: 20%
Region/Escalation 2: 33%
Region/Escalation 3: 66%

If 2 Heroes in your party have Crimson Curse:

Region/Escalation 1: 69%
Region/Escalation 2: 71%
Region/Escalation 3: 80%

If 3 or more Heroes in your party have Crimson Curse:

Region/Escalation 1: 100%
Region/Escalation 2: 100%
Region/Escalation 3: 100%

Reason for Change: Makes it less trivial to completely cure the Crimson Curse, but still gives you options in case it spreads too much.

Additionally, in Kingdoms, maxing out an Inn's Physician upgrade will allow it to sell The Cure. The spawn rates are the same as Hospitals

Implemented Bloodsucker faction

Road Encounters: Spawn rates are the same as Beastmen/Coven
In addition to the normal rewards, Bloodsuckers are guaranteed to drop [The Old Blood] combat/inn item

*Unique Buff: If your heroes do not have Crimson Curse, Bloodsuckers in these encounters have a significantly increased chance to inflict Crimson Curse. The infection chance decreases back to normal once at least one hero has been infected.

Lair Encounters: Entry requirements are the same as Beastmen/Coven
In addition to the normal rewards, Bloodsuckers are guaranteed to drop [The Old Blood] combat/inn item

*Unique Buff: Bloodsuckers in the first/second battle have a significantly increased chance to inflict Crimson Curse. The Archduke encounter does not have this buff.

Bait: Bloodsucker Bait is available in all Inns

Trophies: Archduke drops the new Bloodlust trophy. Has 3 variants.

Crimson Curse (Confessions)

Crimson Curse has the following changes while playing in Confessions game mode (these changes do not apply in Kingdoms):

Accelerated Progression: Crimson Curse will progress over the course of battles, and can progress mid-battle. The average duration of each state is 3 battles.

Wasting Death: A hero that spends too long in Wasting state will die.

Unique Assistance Encounter: A hero with Crimson Curse has a unique interaction in Assistance Encounters.

Vendor Updates: Field Hospitals always sell 1 instance of The Cure. Hoarders always sell multiple instances of The Old Blood

Crimson Curse (non-Main Kingdoms)

Crimson Curse has the following changes while playing in Kingdoms game mode (except when playing Curse of the Court:

Unique Assistance Encounter: A hero with Crimson Curse has a unique interaction in Assistance Encounters.

Vendor Updates: Field Hospitals always sell 1 instance of The Cure. Hoarders always sell multiple instances of The Old Blood
