Last year the Kirby Collab team, which included a popular creator named Ama, released the project after three years of work.

It included a tribute at the end for a Ama's friend, Emi, whom he claimed had died of cancer during the production of the collab.

However, on the morning of March 9th, 2025, Ama's ex-partner, ArunaRunes, as well as Emi's mother and Ama himself admitted that Emi had passed away before the collab began, in May of 2019.

Ama had been impersonating her online for six years through an alternate account, possibly as a coping mechanism.

While posing as Emi, he built friendships and had conversations with himself using private messages. He went as far as faking Emi's debut in the Project Arrhythmia community, a level using the song "Peer Gynt". He applied for an open part in the Kirby Collab under Emi's name, sending falsified screenshots to convince the team. He then re-enacted Emi's death in 2024, despite her passing in 2019. 'Emi's' friends, unaware they had never truly spoken with her, were devastated.

Ama confessed to ArunaRunes, who ended their relationship shortly after and released a public statement on the matter. Emi's mother, Kaari, had joined the Kirby Collab Discord server shortly before its release and was complicit in Ama's lies.

Ama has publicly apologized and stated that he is seeking professional help. He has left the PA community.

Subnautix and I have discussed what to do regarding Emi's tribute at the end of the Kirby Collab. While Ama impersonated her and faked her death, Emi did actually pass away because of cancer during surgery 6 years earlier. As such, we have updated the dedication to reflect Emi's actual date of passing in 2019, as well as removed falsified quotes.
