- New 229 BC start date

Rome has secured the Italian peninsular and established a foothold on Sardinia and Sicily.
Rome have secured a non aggression pact with Massilia and a trade agreement with and Pergamon and Veniti.
The Ardiaei, now lead by Queen Teuta are at war with Rome and are massing invasion forces.
Carthage, now led by Hannibal have been focused on consolidating its gain and influence on the Iberian peninsula ever since the conclusion of the first Punic war.
Macedon have expanded and are at war with the Aetolian league who is now allied with Sparta.
The Seleucid Empire have seized Syria, but has lost influence in Anatolia to Pergamon and Galatia.
Pergamon and Galatia relation have deteriorated which has led to war.
The Boii tribe have migrated southwards and secured relations with the the Raeti, Insurbres and Liguria and may now reach the Cisalpine Gaul.
Baktria and Parthia have expanded their possessions in the far east.

Major factions start with slightly more developed armies, economy and technologies (Rome, Carthage, Macedon, Seleucid, Eqypt, Boii, Baktria and Parthia) While strong/connector factions start with tier 2 capitals (Ardiaei, Massilia, Syracuse, Pergamon, Galatia, Insurbres, Liguria, Pontos and the Aetolian league).

This Campaign is harder than vanilla DEI, if you try to play it as you would in vanilla DEI you will likely struggle. To succeed you will have to pace yourself. The AI may be more reserved starting out, which you can use to your advantage to either quickly expand or build up forces/economy. However when the enemy do attack they usually do it from a place of strength so try to prepare and use army stances and the environment to your benefit.
