Variant A
Repairs any armor/weapon to its original durability before it was kitted and does not loose durability when it repairs
(example - you apply dmg kit to your 3000 durability weapon, it looses 300 durability when applying the damage kit, its new durability is 2700, when you use this kit it will repair and increase the durability back to its original 3000 durability)

Variant B
Repairs any weapon/armor to its current maximum durability does not loose durability when it repairs
(example - you have a weapon that was originally 5000 durability, you have applied 2 major runes of durability to increase the durability by 2000, the weapons current durability is now 7000, applying this repair kit will repair the weapon fully and keep the higher current maximum durability of 7000)
