First up, you need to set the values in the files, so that enabling Saber Realism in the game via settings and command prompts actually do something.

A lot of guides say to simply enter in a command in the console to enable saber realism, and while the command is correct, it activates a file whose values are set to 0. This effectively does nothing. So, follow this set of instructions to set the correct values for saber realism.

"Locate your base folder, it should be somewhere similar to this:

C:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Jedi Academy\GameData\base

There may be two files, jaconfig.cfg and/or jampconfig.cfg. These are what you need to open and make changes to.

(You may want to just start with the jampconfig.cfg file if you only want to see the change in multiplayer.)

Open the file(s) with WORDPAD. NOT notepad.
Make sure you uncheck where it asks you to open this kind of file with this program everytime. You don't want to associate the .cfg filetype with wordpad, your just doing this once.

Use the find function (ctrl+f) and search for "dismember" (without quotation marks)
Every instance of dismember that comes up will be similar to this:

seta dismemberment "100"
seta cg_dismember "0"
seta g_dismember "0"

They will not be the exact same number values as my examples, it doesn't matter. If they have the word dismember, you will change them.

Change them all to = 1000. Like this:

seta dismemberment "1000"
seta cg_dismember "1000"
seta g_dismember "1000"

Jaconfig will have 1 dismember related entry and jampconfig will have 3 you have to find. Once you finish making the changes, save the file. Do not "save as", just save the file from within wordpad. If you want, before you begin you can make a copy and save it with a different filename in case you want to revert changes.

I chose the value 1000, but didn't test out higher values. Feel free to experiment, perhaps you will find that you only want limbs chopped off...50% of the time, or something. figure out what value you like, I guess is , what I'm trying to say.

Note: The number 1000 is only a suggestion for a number. Personally, I've found that the number 1000 makes it so only certain limbs are cut off, and only about half the time. As soon as I find a value that is more reliable/satisfying, I will update it and put it here.

As for online play- if your file is modified for dismemberment, YOU will see dismemberment, not other people who havent modified their file. I tested it with other people and they didnt see the dismemberment until they modded their file. It didn't interfere with the gameplay at all, awesome!"

Next, you need to actually turn saber realism on in the game. I found that after changing the values (as you just did in the first part of this guide) the settings for saber realism need to be renabled in the game's pause menu. So, to do so follow the instructions below:

From the pause menu, it's
Setup> Options > Switch Model Dismemberment to ON

And lastly, you need to activate the values you've set into the game by entering in command codes to the console.

To open the console, hold left shift, and hit the ~ key. A black drop down menu will open and you need to type this into the menu:

set g_sabermorerealistic 3

set helpusobi 1

So that is essentially everything I've done in order to make saber realism work in the game. It's actually not really a complicated process, but it seems like nobody has made a guide that really puts all the information in one place. (I actually found the same exact situation in KOTOR guides, and did literally the same exact thing with this guide, so hopefully this little bit of organization can help some people to better enjoy this game.
