This is a guide to remove all background-images/videos ingame. Not all of them can be removed in the same way so I split the work in 3 main steps.

Now what? It's ok, nothing else to be done here.

Step 2: Subscribe to 'Startup screen black'

Now what? This addon is not allowed to work in the place the workshop system downloaded it.
You have to copy it to another place (better rename it too).

From:

c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\563560\930062419\addon.vpk

To:

c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Alien Swarm Reactive Drop\reactivedrop\addons\menu_startupscreen_black.vpk

Step 3: Subscribe to 'Background videos black'

Now what? This addon is not allowed to work from anywhere, the subscribe button just brought the needed files to your harddrive, now you have to unpack them and copy them all over your gamefiles.
The needed unpack-program is GCFScape[nemstools.github.io] (or this alternative)

Unpack this to your desktop:

c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\563560\930074537\addon.vpk

You will have to find 2 folders 'media' & 'sound' in the unpacked stuff.
Both folders have to be copied to the following place (both should already exist there and you should get asked to overwrite them):

c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Alien Swarm Reactive Drop\reactivedrop\

How to undo these changes?

Unsubscribe from all 3 addons
Delete 'c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Alien Swarm Reactive Drop\reactivedrop\addons\menu_startupscreen_black.vpk'
Verify integrity of game files through steam

There would still remain the sound of the videos which is splitted in 2 other folders. So you would have to do that for 3 folders separately. Here you do one copy/move for all. If there is an update you have to do this steps again. If you have blank files there (as in my vpk) you can even lock them so they do not get overwritten ;)

There's an easier way, navigate to

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Alien Swarm Reactive Drop\reactivedrop\media

make a new folder with any name, and drag all the .bik files there.

I got the idea from your guide though!

Black screen during loading screen is so great, i was getting eye cancer from looking at score table with background in almost same colour
