Mind you, this is my first guide, so i have no experience into making everything look pretty.
I'll stick to a quick description following with a couple of pictures showing either the recruit, or the arena/placement or the recruit/mission itself.

I will not put the directions i took to find them, because sometime when the bear moves you, you are in the same map, only the castle gets moved, so it'll be pointless to say "north/south/east/west from the castle"

Everyone knows that if you start a new game in co-op, the second player will get Hailey instead of Horatio, Pandora instead of Pipistrella and Esteban instead of Sofia; and they can't be traded to one save to the other simply because they're tagged as "Story Chars".
Well, we asked Behemoth, and they delivered !
Now you can get all 3 co-op starters plus a couple more:
-A Yosef counter part, OBVIOUSLY called Brosef
-And a nod to Battleblock Theather's Founder: Purrham Furbottom

To get all 5 of em you simply have to find the 6 hidden levers in the 5 different maps, and each of em will give you one of the recruits.

This "chapter" will have all the main and secondary mission Unique Recruits available at the moment.

All of them with a picture showing the actual Recruit, since the mission can simply get started from the hub, will be shown the mission stage that you can get that recruit.

Editor's Note: This guide is currently in progress, and will be updated as soon as possible!

To get helmitor you simply gotta clear out his fortress, breach the last gate, and he'll run away in the "Helmitor's fancy super exclusive rocketship".
Kill the 2 archers and the 2 close combat units, and recruit him.

Edit: Thanks to "Balthazar" for letting me know that if you get Helmitor down to 50% of his hp or less, his helmet will break off and a "Peaches" bird head will replace it. Sadly i got 2 of them so i don't think it's an unique medium head piece, thanks anyway ;) .

As far as i'm concerned only 3 unique recruits can be found in this mission :
-Captain Leviatha
Obtainable at the end of the first stage of the mission, after boarding her ship and gettin rid of all her minions.

-Mack the chog
-Eddy the chog

Both are really though to obtain since there's a constant AoE attack that pinpoints your location, and since you're in a small arena, it makes it a little bit hard not gettin them targeted.

Exhaust all the spawning Octoplops, kill everyone else, and you should be able to recruit them, they spawn in groups of 2 and exhaust once 12 have appeared.

Pretty straight forward, and the recruit is free of charge.
It all depends on giving the orphan to Jerkimedes or to better parents, which changes the class of Puppy Person.
If you give him to Jerkimedes, he'll kill the "kid" and resurrect him at the end of the battle making him a cyclope.
If you give him to the parents , you'll do the fight normally but the last enemy that stays alive get transformed into a Puppy Person, it can be any unit except the Mascot, Jerkimedes takes the mascot with him if it's the last one alive or if there's only one other unit alive.
If you leave a Pixie alive , you'll get a Pixie Puppy person, etc.

If you want to skip fast to the last bits of the mission here's an advice:
When you start the mission and get the crowbar, look at the left of the map where there's a watcher that moves in a line alone.
Near him is a briefcase with a shiny thing in it, get Yosef close to it and he'll get a Keycard, you still need to disable the anti metal door to proceed.
When you reach the next level go to the door where you can see a kobold and a gnome, the keycard unlocks the door and the gnome will send you at the elevator.

Now onto Hall Minotaur.
This one should be easy if you manage to get enough parachutes fast.
Enemies will spawn constantly at the hangar until every member of your team gets a backpack so you should get your team to gang up on one unit each time until you get backpacks.
Do not take a ranged unit like Rainbow horses or archers, mortars because if the giant head health drops to 0 the mission ends and you won't be able to capture your target.
Try your best to avoid Hall Minotaur until the reinforcements are exhausted and then you can proceed with the recruitment, making Yosef really happy about it
(not really).

FINALLY!
The long waited moment to finally KILL Jerkimedes!

wait, no.

Well, prepare to waste a lot of time redoing this mission a second time folks. cause there's 2 Jerkimedes to recruit in this one.

At the end of the battle if you decide to recruit Jerk, he'll be without his hat and with "Jerk's Fro" which is basically his messed up hair, but if you decide to refuse, you get to fight him with his normally, and you'll get his hat-n-beard obviously called "Jerkimedes"

Fair warning: If you decide to battle jerk, be aware, he'll spawn the trolls that last one turn then disappear.
He spawns units every time the designed machines get destroyed so be sure to clean things up before doing that.

There are two unique units to recruit in this one with a purple special tint:
Ursa Minor (Mascot)
Ursa Major (Troll Mom)

Minor is pretty easy to recruit, since you get help from some ai controlled allies, and a couple of enemy tents so, not really that big of a threat.

The real problem is Major.

As soon as you enter the second battle don't rush the star, or she'll spawn.
Do the same thing as you did for jerk's mission and kill everything, since after 4/5 times the 3 tents in the second part of the map will stop spawning enemies.

In the first encounter of this 3 part mission, the only recruit i can see obtainable is Flinch, but sadly the only way to get him is to let harry die at first, and if you wanna make things easier on you, talk to red, enter his house from the backdoor so you can damage all the enemies before the fight even starts.
If you don't let them kill harry and you just start killing everything except Flinch, he'll just flee making your attempt meaningless, so yea, keep that in mind.

In this encounter there will be only one Unique Recruit: Brock Alpha
Standard capture, just eliminate everyone and leave him the last one standing, sadly if you help the three locals you'll only get a helping hand in the battle against him, if you're trying to capture him, i would avoid them at all.

In the final encounter you'll be able to get Flinch, again, if you feel like it.
Smarticus, or better, Wattson ( if you choose to NOT keep Wattson he'll back-backup to Smarticus )
And i'm pretty sure his whole crew at the second stage of the battle, after a couple of repeats of the whole mission, their names seem to be the same so i'm going to post the images anyway, if someone else can confirm that for me would be great!

In the second act of the Fire Men missions, 2 CopCakes will spawn, and (obviously I might add) they'll misunderstand every single thing and help the opponents kill you.

In the third missions it seems that the two fairy are actually unique, mostly because they don't change the name, and "heebeegeebee" calls stanley with his name. Simply let them destroy the magma carta and recruit them.

Pretty straight forward, to get Frostwaddle you simply gotta kill everything and wait the end of the mission, say no to "you want to quit the mission and get the spoils" and capture him.

Ok, so this is a weird one, in the "unique recruits" part at least.

You'll be sent to recruit Custard while he's fishing, or you could just kill him. <- That will end the mission though, marking it as completed. You will not have help with the first part of Freeware's battle, and neither in the second part. Just capture him will ya ?
Do i really need to say something else ?

If you captured Custard this battle will be pretty much easy, just kill most of the enemy units until the two "King Dualcore" (<-getit?) show up, you can capture both of em if you feel like.

Edit: At the end of the mission, if done correctly and capturing Custard you should get a converted redcoat called "Xenu" as a recruit reward, or Benjamina if she's still alive at the end of the mission. Benjamina as recruit if still alive.

The only Unique Recruit in the first act of this secondary mission is Dolph, the birthday boy.
Simply let him kill Scrumptious, don't quit the mission and recruit him.
If your team has a high damage output you can burst the enemy team while also trying to temper with Dolph attack by putting your units around Scrumptious or throwing a net at Dolph and sending a unit near him, which can improve Scrumptious survival rate.
That way you can get Dolph while completing the mission at the same time.

This one might take a while, since there's 3 Unique Recruits.
Shaun the Groom, Evelyn the bride and Father Butterstick.
Simply kill all of the enemies, let the couple kill Scrumptious and recruit them.

In the first part of the last mission you'll find a decoy, and a bunch of Baker Hitmans, one of them, called "The Leavener" is the unique one.

In the second part if you side with Rub Savory you'll have to fight Scrump and a bunch of his friends, kill all of them and let Rub attack Scrump.
Once his hp is below 50% his "dad" and Scrump's brothers will arrive, only Angel is unique. Just mind your business until they kill rub, so you can capture Cakewalker, or win.

IF you're a madman and you decide to side with Scrump, be prepared. there's 3 uniques.
Since recent updates , siding with Scrumptious make him join you if you manage to protect him.

"I prefer losing, just in case i've missed someone in this mission i won't have to restart from act 1"

These quests are pretty hard compared to most of what i've done but if you are prepared most of what you'll face should be a piece of cake.
We'll start with part two, the unique units are:
-Lair Cake
-The Master
-The Landlord
You meet the cultist ex room mate and need to protect him from The Master and his minions while also helping clean his room by attacking the trash.
Keep units around the guy while also killing enemies because they'll all focus him.
The Master and his Lair Cake will come out of the room after a few turns, only those two are unique.
Once you complete the quest while keeping the guy alive he becomes his own landlord and names himself.. The Landlord

The last part has 3 confirmed uniques, probably 4 but i haven't done that part twice yet so i can't confirm it.

-Minister Gloss
-Paw-Paw ?
-Aesop
-Executive Sweet

This quest is pretty hard but it becomes trivial if you bring a gnome with you.
Take 2 fighters to the doors the moment you start and the gnomes too, destroy it then catapult those 2 fighters closest to the kitchen , then wait until you can destroy it , destroy it and go to the door that leads to a bedroom, wait until she gets in and destroy it too.
Keep the rest of your fighters around the bear cultist leader because if he stays alive he joins you as an unique unit.
Once you manage to break into Minister Gloss bedroom you'll face her boss and get betrayed by the one you would have never expected, Paw-Paw.
That part is rather easy but don't take your time because once the monsters destroy everything in Gloss house they'll come for you.
Try to keep Gloss alive too because she'll come with you if she stays alive.

I only got Executive Sweet by killing everyone else except him, the monsters will disappear and he'll regret not fleeing when everyone was thanking you, rather easy catch.
I don't think you can get Paw-Paw because when i got him to low health he joined me like a coward but i can't confirm that yet.

The first quest is easy , the only unique unit being General Sod, vines will come out of the ground every turn , you can ignore them if your team is decent mobility wise.
Just kill all the enemies and you can capture Sod even with the tentacles alive, but be carefull they could potentially kill him since their attack can hurt enemy team.

After this, there will be all the unique recruits that I've found so far in the overworld sorted by quest name in alphabetical order.

All of them with two pictures, with a tiny explanation on top:

-One with the place of their base/arena (unless they are moving encounters)

-And one with the name on their missions

Unique Recruits
Cankles (Pixie)

You can recruit Cankles the Shoe Gnome simply doing the mission as normal. Once you see a gnome coming towards you, start the battle and he'll be there.

Carbs is a cannibal cupcake that, apperently, has his own seminary about eating people.
To recruit him, kill everyone else, and capture him; just please don't eat anything it's kinda unhealty.

Oh btw, cupcakes are sweet because they eat one another, yeah, Gluten says it.

Talk with tricerastops and escort him to the baseball field, kill everyone except Corey, easy as that.

You can get these 3 recruits by playing this encounter.

If you bring a meat based weapon for this quest , the enemies will notice that you actually brought meat to the trade and surround the meat holding fighter to see it, you'll then get a special weapon "Excalibeef" and meet "The Sizzle Baron", you can leave the battle afterward or keep fighting , regardless of the outcome the Baron join you if you bring meat so if you keep fighting you can get him twice in one fight.

You can find them near a dead monster, usually it's them plus 1 unit, pretty easy to kill them even if they're both cyclops.

Once you start the encounter, head for the mines.
My approach was : i let the guard alarm the miners, lock them off at the gates in hoping that doe boy wouldn't switch between the low-hp ones, bring a ranged and a stun, just in case.

Fib Feelgood

You can find Glib Feelgood near a destroyed truck. Sadly you can't get Ms. Sarsaparilla, only Fib can be recruited.

You can get Fresh by starting the encounter, and move onto the Battle zone. He is the only Unique Recruit in this encounter.

All seven of Gwennifer's friends can be captured pretty easily. You just have to kill Gwennifer Blobbins before any of the others or she just revives them if they die.

Gwennifer Blobbins can be captured. It's just a bit difficult. You have to pull off a dudodzo kill (7 kill), as well as a well timed net throw on the same turn as the dudodzo kill. (Do this in co-op)

Talk to the stabbed guy. he'll send you to "kill" his stabber, and instead of killing him you'll recruit Jimmy, and his friend Fivel.

Unique Recruits
Lady Ladylegs (Spidaur)

She has a bodyguard unrelated to the quest, but it is not unique.

As far as I'm concerned she spawns with 3/4 allies, they SHOULD not be unique.

You can find the Lieutenant lurking around the map, during the first encounter he's the only unique recruit that you can get. Once you've finished the first battle, head over to Sid, kill all the other minions and recruit him. 2 in 1 mission.

You can find him near a tank holding a dynamite sword.
Most of the recruits with him will die, but 3/4 of em actually stay alive, so if you wish you can take one of them as well.

You can find Montgomery near a destroyed truck. Start the encouter, go get some blood for his truck, and once you're back you'll have kill the mechanics before he transforms.

Might seem hard, but once you rush the gate and the crypt, everything will be fine.

Carlton the zombie is also unique.
The Hair trolls called "Rupert" and "Jevees" that the Duke spawns are unique.

BUT there's a little problem with these last two. If you kill Necro, they disappear. So i really don't know how to "fail" the mission, to make them normal enemies.

There's a chance tho that you can actually kill and capture at the same turn, since the trolls won't disappear until the duke's dead, you can actually kill everything else, leave the duke + 1 troll and attempt the capture. <--- Confirmed



Dem "Manithro" strats tho

You can Find Peligrosito by talking to "The Moron with a green mowhak" 's dad. He'll send you to the Park of the dead where you'll find him with 3 random units.

Don't get scared by the difficulty. This one might seem hard at first, but once you bring 2/3 units with explosives and after busting the gate you rush the tents, you should be fine.
Keep in mind tho, Peligrosito is a fairy so he has very low hp.
The farther you stay from him the better.

You find Peter near a cupcake, the other 3 ALWAYS spawn, sometimes you can get a female axe thrower called Celery Stick (3 times out of 3 confirmed unique) for a total of 5 enemies.

Preston Shill (Mascot)

To get him you gotta play the waiting game, because his band WILL split up and try to get the spectators to join them, either you kill them fast, or be sure to get one of his team, for each spectator they turn into an enemy, so you won't get cornered.

At the beginning of the fight Robo-MoM will disappear. After killing 2 of RoboBilly's friends Robo-Mom will spawn, this one is definetly a mission that needs to be farmed a lot if you want all of them.

Unique Recruits
Scoops o' Malley

You'll have to stop the robbers before you can actually attack and recruit Scoops. Her crew is random so don't bother about them.

Once you've started the mission, you will have to choose to fight with Sir Froth, or the peasants.
Stand AGAINST Sir Froth to recruit him.

You can find him by starting the "laundry delivery" mission, he's like the shoe gnome.
Simply start going into the objective direction and he'll spawn.

Sultan of Shivers

Note: The Sultan has a unique (shaking text) head.

To get the Sultan, you must NOT destroy the thermostat, or he'll simply vanish and you'll waste your opportunity to get him. Bring SOMEONE WITH A RANGED WEAPON, if you kill the 4 archers before detroying the gate and rushing the tents, you'll have more chances to recruit the sultan

You can find him near some water and cages. As far as i'm concerned his minions are random but feel free to recruit one of em if you feel like.

The Queenie (Human)

Note: The Queenie has a unique (shaking text) helmet.

You can find The Rookie inside of this "chess-like" arena, to spawn the Queenie you just have to play the battle, she'll spawn after some turns.

You can get Toastmaster by gettin him to safety, so be sure to stay near him. And if you want you can always stay alive and try to get one of the Unit-###, i think these androids are the only ones called like that.

You can find Yoratio near a destroyed U.F.O. He'll help you fight FH, FP and FY (unless you recruit one of em of course) and "Future" Yoratio will recruit himself into your crew.

Here's the list of all the unique recruits that i've found only once. They're spaced out and at the end of each group there will be a "no new ones found" which means that those are the only recruits that don't change their name in that specific mission.

This quest is going to be easy or hard depending on your luck i guess.
I did the quest once and had 4-5 guys on the other side and just got destroyed, then replayed it and they were only 4.
Try to not bring any weapon or unit that send things far away like cyclops because you're gonna have a hard time winning if you knock a ranged into the "sea".
Only unique of this quest is Junker Julius.
If you complete the quest you also get a nice spooky hat, maybe if you do it perfect , i didn't let a single garbage drop in the sea so i don't know for sure.

Hard quest coming in, you probably should only use maces for this one given the amount of enemies with helmet.
Bring a cupcake to keep Futron alive.
We got 3 Uniques on this one so prepare for some suffering.
We got :

-Space Judge
-Emperor Muldos
-Princess Ophidia

You can capture the Princess and one of the other 3 uniques in one same fight.
Don't damage her because she'll surrender if you deal too much damage, throw the cage when she's last then you get to proceed.
If you see a fighter you want in the first part of the fight , ignore him, you can't capture anyone except the princess in the first part : She can't die and if she get too low she surrender and you move to the next part, i learned that by trying to keep a robot with a green name.

For the second part , killing the game master make space judges fight you while killing Muldos make space judges help you, so make your choice depending on how your team survival chances are.
