In general, this is a fix I've found useful for older games that don't have great support for multi-core/thread processing. You can play with the number of processors/threads that's right for you. For example, try starting with 1 and watch your CPU utilization. If it's really high, enable one more and check again. While running this game with 4 cores/thread enabled (out of the 8 possible) on an i7-7700k and a GTX 1650, I have 30% CPU and GPU utilization and a relatively solid 60 fps
