New Game Plus - Everything You Must Know - Video Guide

Everything you need to know before starting a new game plus playthrough plus things you'll want to avoid so you don't wind up making time-consuming mistakes in your own game. In the guide I go through everything from runes, bone charms, money, equipment, blueprints as well as some extra tips that you won't find in the video.

Below you'll find some additional useful information that is not included in the video guide. This is more detailed info that I thought would be a useful addendum.

  • New Game Plus in Dishonored 2 does profile / campaign based sourcing for your New Game Plus playthrough it is NOT saved game based. That is why you see me select a campaign that has been completed upon which to base the New Game Plus playthrough and not choose a specific saved game. You only take with you what you had at the point you finished the game in that playthrough.

    If you're going back to an old saved game to make adjustments you'll have to take it through to the end of the game in order for the changes to persist when you select that campaign to base your New Game Plus playthrough off of.

  • If your New Game + Option is grayed out in the menu this is because you need to complete at least one full playthrough of the game from the beginning to dealing with Delilah and seeing the ending screens. After that, the option will unlock for you.

  • Yes you can create a New Game + playthrough from an existing New Game + playthrough. i.e. New Game ++. You'll start over with even more runes and bone charm traits this time, as you really can't find all of the bone charm traits in a single playthrough, so go ahead an give it a shot.

  • Bone Charm crafting and crafting runes. If you have spare runes laying around before you finish up, you might want to consider picking this up. The reason is that you're NOT going to carry your raw whalebones into your next game. As you wind up sac'ing a bunch of bone charms you'll wind up with a bunch of spare raw whalebone mats. With these just sitting around you could easily turn them into more runes, then sink them into Powers or Enhancements and carry even more points with you into New Game plus.

    You just have to watch the trade-off between how much it costs to pick up and what you'll net by crafting. Always best to just save and try it out to see if A) you're not familiar with the process or B) your math pimp hand isn't that strong. ;)

    However when you get into a New Game ++ (i.e. one sourced off of an existing NG+ playthrough) This will be an essential way to sac extra runes and build bone charms before you even set foot off of the Dreadful Wale in Mission 02. It can obviously be a tactic you use in your NG+ playthrough, but once you get to NG++ it would be silly to not do it.

  • Right after this patch released, some genius started a rumor (that has somehow persisted) that you cannot get your Flesh and Steel achievement on a New Game Plus playthrough. That is completely FALSE. I used NG+ to get mine.

  • Blueprints that you already have will be worth 200 coins when collecting them again. This is the same for regular and masterwork blueprints.

  • If you're looking for additional ways to supercharge your NG+ playthrough you might want to try picking up all of the Raw Whalebone in the game for some additional rune and bone charm crafting. You can find a guide for tracking the locations of the Raw Whalebone in the game here.

  • If you choose to not accept the Outsider's Mark in New Game+ you will LOSE all of your rune points that you carried over. That might seem like a down side to doing a no power (Flesh and Steel) playthrough in NG+, but you will still have access to every blueprint immediately. Based on that I think it is still a viable choice.

  • Yes, you can complete achievements in NG+ just like you did in your original game.

Though I suggest that the comment you made about bonecharms gets incorporated into the actual guide, as it is quite important. :sign2:

In the video, you didn't have any bonecharms equipped before making a NG+ from that save, but if you had any equipped would they carry over to NG+ (like how unused runes won't cary over but used ones will)? Or do bonecharms not carry over regardless?

Two things, one don't check the box when you uninstall in Steam that says to remove your local saved game data, two make sure you are synching your saves with the cloud so if you do uninstall and accidentally lose them it will just copy them back down

Is New Game+ and game slot data still there if you delete the game then re-install it?

yea im sick...funny to know that other people are getting the cough and i got it like a few days ago :/

Damn, Lother are you sick too? I've had that crap since before Thanksgiving. Just started to feel better on Monday, and now I've got a sore throat again and my cough is coming back. Ugh. Just about everyone I know has been hit by this crap.
