Here's another: when you're travelling forward, time your next anchor use right before you touch the ground (or a roof). For some reason this propells you forward harder than normal.
Also, one thing I found useful to learn when I was a noob was to catapult myself towards a good position near a titan I want to kill and NOT combat mode or anchor on the approach, to wait until I'm exactly where I want to be. This avoids all sorts of unwanted Titan reactions, and looks like a cool near-instant kill if I instantly boost and attack right after anchoring. (The guide's advice not to boost no longer applies if you're stimmed up on the Battle Signal).
However, depending on the targetted limb, you might need to boost in order to get the limb before you get grabbed, on the first attack. Once a limb is cut off, every titan is stunned around two seconds, usually right at the moment the second attack rolls in this way.
While in Survey they are indeed based on killing and finishing all side-missions, in story mode, you need to do a littile more than that, such as team up with specific characters, destroy barricades and other mission unique aspects to be used.
(I'm looking at you Jacksepticeye.)
