Introduction
Most veterans will definitely remember this from back in the day but it is worth reminding and many new players will make good use of it.

As soon as you exit the hideout and enter the plaza, go to your right until you see the stairs in the picture:

A will lead us to the Uzi and B is where the Katana is.
A - The uzi submachine gun
Once you go up the stairs, turn right and try to jump to where the arrow is pointing. The jump can be tricky and you may need a few tries to get it right.
Once up there, stick to the wall and continue walking until you reach the gun. There will be a couple of times in which it will look like you are going to fall but just hug the wall and Frank will grab to the ledge again.
B - Katana
Continue up the stairs we took before and turn left. You will reach a cafeteria. Just vault over the balcony and you will get a trusty katana.

Now go out there and slay some zombies!

the katana isn't worth it, its the weakest katana in all of history

There's also another submachine gun if you go to the waterfountain (while your following brad after the carlito fight) also the exit by the cafe during the beginning plaza, there will be police zombies with handguns. so you could really stock up on weapons and make boss fights alot easier.

no sabia de la existencia de la UZI y eso que ya tengo rato jugando este juego desde 9 años, lo jugue primero en x360, solo sabia de la katana, gracias por la uzi

Uzi in the following locations that i know of -
The one shown above
Chris foods sign in the food court
The fountain at the end of al fresca plaza
In one of the palm trees in the entrance plaza

There might be more but these are the ones ive found in my about 10 years of this game

If I remember correctly every area has one Uzi. But considering how often we go to the hideout, this one really comes in handy.

I've always known about the katana. But when the first 3 games were ported to Xbox One, I found the uzi by complete luck. And have since forgot about it, so thank you for this guide my fellow Dead Rise-er.
