Good gear that should be used depends on your class. Use what is best for you. If your a melee guy, use beetle armor, ect.

For a easy way to kill the moonlord, you just need to make a box that you will sit in. Have holes on the left side, right side, and roof. A one block hole is optional but if you do two it will be able to hit you.

Items that are good to use for the box strategy:
The Eye Of Cthulu YoYo
Solar Eruption
and any item that can go through blocks or through one block holes.

When doing this, you will get hurt by the true eyes of cthulu, so it is best to bring healing. I reccoment getting super healing pots, heart lanturns, two or three buckets of honey on the ground for healing while you stand in it, and some campfires outside of the box. If you have any defensive items use that to so you take less damage.

When you are fighting the beast, you are gonna want to do these steps in this order.
1. Begin attacking one of the eyes untill its half way dead
2. Begin attacking the other eye untill its half way dead.
3. once you are ready, kill both the eyes.
4. attack the top eye untill its dead.
5. Begin to attack the core.

It is best to heal inbetween every step if you can. And remember not to heal with moonbite on.
This is easier to do with multiplayer and voice chat, so if you have a friend then they can help with this.
