I have found out a better way which works and counts the play time on steam. For the Vanilla Game only, and yes clone campaigns does work run the game with the clone head instead of Darth Vader's if you want clones.

1. Buy game simple but don’t install.
2. Get someone you know that has the game and has been able to run and play perfectly, copy the whole folder onto an SD card or USB or other.
3. Go to where your steam files are located and drag and drop the Star Wars folder into your Steamapps folder. if you receive a message saying that there is a file missing while its transferring over then just press skip
4. Open the vanilla game (Darth Vader’s head) in the Steamapps folder and steam will begin to download the game. But it will discover that there is already a folder in the Steamapps folder, and only a few files that are needed will download there just the base game files that make the game work.
5. Run game in the Steamapps folder (Darth Vader’s Head). It will ask for admin admission click Yes and then steam will ask for admission click Yes again, then the game will load up and you will be able to play Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds

Note I have done this on windows 10 and has worked for Windows 7,8 and 8.1 I’m not sure how this will work and always open from the Steamapps folder not steam because steam will keep saying missing executable file.
