Learn to keep your decent balanced and not waste fuel as long as your under 20 MPS ( meters per second ) you will land safely.

Check the Care package which contains basic tools and a Whitley Habitat (your home).
To inflate a Habitat drop it from your inventory screen either using the menu to the right hand side of the screen or pressing I then clicking on the Hab then clicking on drop.
Once it is dropped pick it up and an inflate option will appear on you HUD click this and it will inflate automaticly.
Different classes have different habitats with them when they land once they are constructed you will be able to research further advanced blueprints attached to that building.

Once landed research all the resources in the research window contained in the dark blue Inventory menu and the right hand of the screen.
First research all things under Mineral Oven by clicking on the Mineral oven tab in said window – there are essential.
Then research all other things under 3D Printer some things will not appear until you have created a certain habitat this is why they are visible but have no things to research if you clicked on it such as Biology Habitat if you had not built one.

Resources are gathered through mining to mine equip the Pick Axe by pressing I and clicking on the Pick Axe and then clicking the Equip button on the top left of the screen.
Once equiped press E to use the axe and mine.
They need to be combined or refined most basic things are in the Mineral oven -Aluminium from Halloycite ,Polymer and Glass in an unrefined form.
There are some more complex resources which can be made in the 3d Printer.
Whilst mining you will have to use one of the scanners to have a higher chance of finding rarer resources.
Also you can build an automatic drill once researched.
