When you first play the game you'll be able to do a think called The Daily Challenge where you can see how many rounds you can last. After you've done it, you can't do it for another 24 hours. This way, you can simply play with players that aren't people, but simply AI bots. You'll get a medal depending on how many rounds you last, so try and see if you can get on the leaderboards!

If you simply play online with other people, you'll get experience for winning a match, getting you closer to levelling up. If you play with AI bots, it won't work, (unless you're playing the Daily Challenge.) so you need to find other people.
