This is the first weapon you pick up in Half-Life and to be honest, becomes completely useless when you pick up the gravity gun later on.


This is not so much of a weapon but a tool, you use it to break wood and other destructable materials, the crowbar can also be used as a melee weapon.

MY TIP: Only use the melee aspect of the crowbar against small enemies such as headcrabs because it is a great way to save ammo

DON'T DO: Never use the crowbar against combine soldiers as they can easily kill you with their weapon

The Pistol is picked up a few moments after the crowbar.

It has a great range and a good rate of fire

TIP: Use at long range and always aim for the head

DON'T DO: Do not use this as spam because when your primary weapons run out of ammo you are going to be left helpless

This is the third weapon to be picked up, and opposite to the pistol this is very inacurate and is ideal for spraying

The smg also has a secondary fire which enables you to shoot grenades, these are ideal for dealing with large enemies such as poison zombies.

TIPS: Use this weapon for close range general spray

DON'T DO: Don't shoot long range with this weapon as it is a total waste of ammo

Probably my most used weapon in the entire game, the shotgun is a high damage weapon and is built for CLOSE RANGE to instant kill enemies, it has a notmal fire and a secondary fire, the secondary fire shoots 2 shells at a time and deal double the amount of damage.

TIP: Use this idealy in the chapter: "We don't go to Ravenholm"

DON'T DO: Do not use this to shoot at enemies from a long range as you don't get much ammo throughout the game

This is completely true, use the revolver at medium to long range to pick off targets,, it has 6 bullets in the chamber so make sure you use them efficiently.

MY TIP: Use it against combine soldiers because of the high damage, very effective against the combine elites

DON'T DO: Do not fire rapidly, this gun has an insane recoil. To stay accurate, time your shot instead of unloading everything

Now this is probably the most powerfull weapon in the game, firing this at an enemy will literaly pin them against the wall behind them, it is an instant kill for all the basic enemies.

MY TIP: Use the right mouse button to aim and get a better shot

DON'T DO: Do not aim directly at a moving target, make sure you analyse their movement because it takes up to 1 second for the bolt to reach it's target
