Echo Canyon

As you drive through the dry riverbed between the mountains, you emerge into the wide open Echo River Valley. Carved away over millenia and marked with monuments of stone that withstood the test of time, Echo Canyon is nestled along the banks of the Echo River, the largest river in this part of the country. The heat is intense and the vegitation sparse. What kind of person would live in a place like this?

As it turns out, lots of people.

Based on the American Southwest (particularly Albuquerque) and surrounded by mountains and tributaries, Echo Canyon offers a wide flat building area for the sprawling desert metropolis of your dreams. Trees are sparse, and fertile land rare, but the land is just perfect for whatever you have in mind. A small desert village? Or a shining jewel of the west? You decide!

This map was designed and is best played with Lemente's "Not So Red Canyon" theme, which really brings out the desert atmosphere.

NOTES:
-I'd recommend playing this map with a 25 tile mod, just to have access to all the land and resources it contains.
-While there's enough flat area to support 81 tile mods, be advised that if you go beyond the vanilla 25 tiles, the water will do some weird things (I had a hard time getting it to flow right).
