This is the first of the fixes. Its common and the first part is very easy with the second part being medium.

Part 1: Disabling Steam Overlay
Open up your library in steam and right click on OlliOlli. Click properties. In the properties box there should be two boxes with writing next to them. One of the boxes should say "Disable Steam Overlay". Click the box next to that. Exit properties.

Step 2: Disabling Fullscreen in the Files
Now in Windows open the "Run" app. Type in the open line "%appdata%" without the quotation marks. Click ok. It should open a file window. Look for a file called "olliolli". Open it. The file location should be "C:\Users\your computername\AppData\Roaming\olliolli". Right click the file called "olliolli" and hit edit. It should open in notepad. The file should have 3 sections. Video, audio, and language settings. Under Video Settings replace "Fullscreen = true" with "Fullscreen = false". Now exit and save and run the game.

This should fix the game. You can change the resolution but if you make it fullscreen or turn overlay back on it will make the black screen return.
