Black Ops III: Performance Fix

This guide will go over a couple of tricks to make the performance of Black Ops III be a bit smoother. What made me want to make this guide was the split screen, the frames are nearly cut in half if you are playing on the same settigns as you would play on if you were playing alone.

The game for some dumb reason runs at a low priority, changing it to high gives around a 5-10FPS increase.

Just copy paste this into notepad!
@ECHO OFF TITLE Call of Duty Black Ops III START "" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty Black Ops III\BlackOps3.exe" :1 TIMEOUT /T 10 /NOBREAK >NUL WMIC PROCESS WHERE NAME="BlackOps3.exe" CALL SETPRIORITY 128 >NUL GOTO 1


If your Black Ops III is in another location then change the file location!
- Now save that text into a .bat
Ex. "Black Ops III.bat"

Customizing the bat file
Put the .bat file in E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty Black Ops III or put it wherever else you want it. Just not on your desktop.

- Now that you have it where you want it right click the .bat file then Send to Desktop


- Return to your desktop and right click the .bat file.

- Go to Properties

- On Target go to the end of that text box and at the very end put a space then copy paste this:
-threads 4

Ok your done!
You should now have a 10-20FPS increase! This may depend on your graphics processor.
Always open that .bat file for the FPS increase to take affect. NOT through Steam!

FPS is fine its like 500 but those little freezes especially on origins is so annoying. Nothing makes any difference, gpu, m.2 ssd, overclocked over 5ghz processor, boiii client, old versions of black ops 3, community patch, stupid cfgs that don't do anything.

okay, so what I said last is a "per launch" fix, if you want it permanently you have to create a .txt file, enter a tiny 5 line script, save, and change the extension from .txt to .cfg

The script is, without the ( at start and ) at end, and yes the "Windows Registry Editor" line is required.

@tragichero having the game go auto-priority is a big problem, as some update about a year ago made BO3 run in Low Priority on Windows task manager.

Right click the task bar, select task manager, right click BlackOps3.exe, go to details, right click the .exe again and set priority to Realtime...
My old as hell, g34 server socket Opteron 6276, 16 core 2.30GHz CPU and Radeon RX 460 4GB ((bottlenecked by PCI-e 2.0 8x electrical connection of server motherboard)) runs BO3 around 40 fps on boot, but after fixing priority in Task Manager it instead decides to run BO3 at 70+ fps at medium settings 1440x900
