When using a Trip Ticket, you must choose one of six locations to take another student. At each location, there are three groups of three conversation starters you may be offered. The group you get is random but while the order of the conversation starters in each group may change the group they belong to does not.

…sorry if that was confusing.

Anyway, every conversation starter has one of four levels of effectiveness — talking to Monokuma during a period of free time allows you to see a chart that maps Makoto's bonds with the other students, which are measured in hearts. Some conversation starters increase your bond with the corresponding student more than others.

GREAT 1 heart
GOOD 0.5 hearts
POOR 0.1 hearts
AWFUL 0 hearts

Only students with the maximum of 10 hearts will be available to talk to at the end of the final day.

The final Monokuma backup (Warlockuma) is the only backup that is essential to seeing students' School Mode endings and receiving the ~200 Monocoin reward — however, Trip Tickets are only awarded for completing backups so it is in your best interests to complete as many as you can. Additionally, you must have filled in every page of each student's report card to see the School Mode endings.

You can see a maximum of five students' School Mode endings per School Mode completion. With only 14 students to choose from, efficient players may only require three playthroughs to unlock them all.

OTHER NOTES

If a student collapses during material collection, they will not be available during free time until they are revived.

If the cleanliness bar is fully depleted, the next day that is not a weekly day off you will not be able to collect materials or participate in free time events. All students that are not collapsed are forced to clean and the free time period is skipped (if the next day is the 49th day, then both of the free time periods are skipped).

Checking Makoto's door will allow you to skip free time events after selecting "Go meet with someone".
