If your game only shows the splash screen, your screen turns black, and then quits, We Can Fix It. Well, mainly you are going to fix it. I will tell you how to though. So sit back and relax, we are gonna fix your game.

Basically the Whole Process
1. Simply open up the folder which holds your game by right clicking it in your library and hitting properties.
2. Then hit Local Files and click browse local files.
3. Once that has opened, open the bin folder.
4. Then right click the application FarCry2
5. Click Properties, (should be at the bottom)
6. At the top of the open window click Compatibility
7. Now under compatibility mode select Windows 95
8. Hit apply at the bottom
9. Close everything except Steam
10. Now you are done! Play The Game! Have Fun!
11. P.S. the splash screen will no longer pop up...

A question not related to Staring FC2. Is there a way to have steering by your mouse, not by the keyboard buttons A and D. They are a PITA. If I recall when I first got FC2 back in the 90s it had mouse steering.

for me the game does not even start i have reinstalled the installers i have followed a tutorial i have a discussion about it and nothing is working i just ran the launcher and it says it cant find the game version number and it aborted the install

In order to solve the issue and also have Steam Controller working, I recommend selecting Vista (Service Pack 2).

@Pryoman117 I did not have this problem, if the game crashed before hand than it should work when you reload the compatibility.

yeah it helps but idk my game data i load game then crash i put it in 95 mode i have no data i put back i have data im 20% through game i need another way threw to fix can you help
