wanna upload more than a 400mb file in the workshop but the vpk cannot compress more than 400mb? i find the solution.

i try in many ways to produce a multi-chunk VPK also know as "split" the files in the VPK.exe since i cant actually open it and just close immediately and i cant have any options beside just drag and drop i found a solution.

just go the the insurgency bin (SteamApps\common\insurgency2\bin) find the vpk.exe and right click on it and "create a shortcut".

then go to your desktop and find the shortcut you created and right click and go to properties and shortcut
then in the target area put a "-M" in the end of the directory like:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\insurgency2\bin\vpk.exe" -M
then save it.

now drag and drop the file you need to split on the shortcut and wait, it can take some time depending on the size.

then if you gonna upload it on insurgency chose the "_dir.vpk" file to be uploaded, the other files will be uploaded automatically and also wait because that can take some more time.

its a very simple tutorial but i think its something that i should share with you guys since i did not find anything about it :D

꧁༺₦Ї₦ℑ₳༻꧂ I just had a similar issue using the vpk.exe from the SP 2013 SDK Base. I tried a shortcut in the same directory which didn't work, I then tried a desktop shortcut which didn't work either, however, in both instances I had the shortcut set with a lower case "-m" instead of an upper case "-M". Changing to upper case fixed my issue immediately, maybe give that a go, or try a vpk.exe from another/or newer engine/sdk?

Roque_THE_GAMER I opened vpk.exe with Powershell and found the "vpk -?" command to obtain a list of useable commands.

Man, I was about to break the computer. You're a genius! You should not make the title special for the game. I could not give you a Like. The title should have been about VPK.

I wanted to modify some older Workshop Custom Theatre files I had subscribed to for my own solo bot games.The files are like 3gig in size and I could not work out how to do it,I did not want to open command prompt because I was not familiar with its use.Your guide worked really well.I had almost given up doing what I wanted and then I randomly came across your guide.
