But Ancients can use claws! They still are probably problematic because of their low attack, and I'm not sure their morale bonus actually stacks. But high HP and morale make them more resilient than your average range-unit (also they are Support, so no bonus damage from anti-archer weapons)
- races for wounders;
- winters;
- naval warfare;
- eclipses;
- urkans;
- global quests
and so on. You won't be able to fully experience (and manage) these mechanics if your game runs too fast.
If you're not going to play 15 players FFA with desyncs every 0.0001 sec - don't even dare to set faster than slow. Endless speed is recommended for true Endless Legend experience.
There is. If you set speed to fast technology tends to outpace your military development. As a result there is no reason to level your troops, use quicksilver and take +1/2/3 xp per turn bonus in general hero tree and, if you play with vanilla factions, drakken units expirience boost becomes useless as well. Why? Because in 10/15/20 turns your new troops will start with level 2, 3, 4 and there is no way to level them faster than technology advances on other speed than Endless.
That one is about balance. And there is another take. On release EL had less mechanics and was less complicated overall.

But I expected that there will also be a chapter about pearl technology/strategy (including the altar and prayer).
