A crude map from my interpretation of the game also a quasi walkthrough with screenshots for first time runthroughs.

Introduction
From my experience with the game I created a map of the Woodsfield Center area. It may not be 100% accurate in scale but it gives a general idea of the layout of the area. I also uploaded some screenshots to navigate around from the various spawns. Key locations for looting, finding survivors etc.

Three spawn points will be mentioned and are referred to as the Industrial Spawn, the Midpoint Spawn, and the Bus Station spawn.

General areas will also be referenced, namely Main Street and Residential Areas.

Since there are no compasses or any game mechanics to provide directional orientation I always use the burning building located at about the midway point of the main street. That knowledge allows me to get my bearings rather easily at almost any time.

MAP
Bus Station Spawn

The bus station itself is usually good for one resource source and about 9 material(s) right in the fenced compound alone. Plus there may be weapons in the guard shack by the gate and a mix of ammo, water, and food from the cars in the parking lot. Probably the best thing about the bus station is the proximity to the main street and residential areas which are the best scavenging locations for weapons/ammo and food etc (as you can see by how close the burning building is in the screenshot). The same street you are forced to enter the fenced compound from takes you to the main street.

If it's your first spawn point there is a cop car on the way to getting inside the fenced compound that may have a weapon and usually ammo on the trunk as well.

This is the view of end of main street where the Bus Station Spawn funnels you out to. It is a resource rich area with 3-4 cop cars, 2 army trucks, 3 army crates, fire truck, and an ambulance. To say the least you should end up with a bit of everything including lots of ammo, a couple guns, some material(s) and potential a resource source (either by the ambulance or beside the army tent).

Industrial Spawn

Once you spawn and exit the alleyway this should be your view (above). To the left is the construction yard, to the right is the woodyard as I call it and the big plume of smoke straight ahead is coming from the burning building on main street.

The construction yard is a great spot to get resources sources. There are only a few zombies here and the loot is plentiful. The work trailer in the corner of the yard often has at least a melee weapon in it.

The woodyard is also plentiful. There are a few materials, usually at least one resource source and within the building I've found backpacks, weapons, food, water etc. Nothing amazing but worth a run through.

If you continue towards the burning building the road funnels you to the left. You will pass a small parking lot that has materials and sometimes some loot in the box of the one truck. From there you can see the gas station and the inaccessible building beside the Midpoint Spawn. The gas station has assorted loot and sometimes has a resource source outside by the tanks.

Follow from the Midpoint Spawn section...
Midpoint Spawn

This is the view from the Midpoint Spawn looking at the burning building on main street (above). Ahead and to the right is the office building en route to main street. Behind you is the gas station, parking lot, and Industrial Spawn.

The office building good spot to get some initial loot and may potentially hold a survivor (I've never gotten a survivor out of this one but have out of the identical building on the other side of main street). There is usually at least a melee weapon and ammo in here but also typically a gun of some variety.

When moving on index the burning building and head that way. You'll come to a four-way intersection. To the right is a dead end with a lot of vehicles and some loot including two cop cars. Cop cars are a sure bet to have ammo and quite often weapon(s) as well. If it's your first trip then attaining weapons is the number one priority. If the office building didn't produce anything (though it usually has at least a pistol or a melee weapon) I would hit the cop cars. Heading straight through the intersection means you go around a flipped over tractor-trailer with no trailer on it. Just past that and to the right is another cop car in a dead end alley.

If you went left you are taking a longer way around. On the way around though there is the little store called "Mandy's" (sometimes has a resource source) and across the street from it is a caged-in area where I once found a decent gun on the crate by the door. All-in-all going this long way around puts you in more harms way than it's worth for the potential loot. You end up connecting up with the main path towards main street just past the flipped over tractor trailer.

For reference the screenshot shows a view from just past the flipped over tractor trailer. To the right is the alley with the cop car, to the left is where the long way around comes back out. Just ahead is the residential area.

The residential area here. Turning left here takes you into the residential area while going straight takes you out onto main street.

This view is looking towards the end of main street where the Industrial Spawn and Midpoint Spawn funnel you out to. The burning building is to our back as well as the helicopter and the office building (may hold survivors). Straight ahead is the humvee and military crates. To the left is a store, to the right is an industrial building. I always make sure to loot this area as it's great for guns and ammunition and is close to the helicopter and office building.
Main Street
Main street is very rich in loot. The two ends of the street have the most loot though there are assorted stores throughout it's length with some loot. There is a downed helicopter in roughly the middle of it's length that usually has a resource source and some material(s). Assorted throughout the many vehicles on the street are probably a dozen material(s). The main street is surrounded by Residential Areas.
Residential Areas
Residential areas are located on both sides of and running along back streets that run parallel to the main street. They are the best areas to find survivors and to upgrade your equipment. Backpacks are found here most frequently from my experience and you can stock up with little effort as far as dealing with zombies and covering ground. The only problem is it's time consuming and a little grindy to scavenge the residential areas. Found throughout the residential areas are cop cars and ambulances as well as a few assorted shops/stores.

The "Alive Inside" signs found on the buildings indicate a survivor is present in that building.
