Starting Staff - WotC + Vanilla

Works great with LWOTC and is a nice way to give yourself a bit of a boost in the early game without altering gear. I find it frustrating if I get unlucky and go for 2 months without any scientist or engineer rewards other than the black market. Doesn't happen that often but my last game I didn't get my first engineer or scientist mission reward or scanning bonus until after the 3rd supply drop.

Used to use this all the time - but no matter what now it appears to be not doing anything. I get the Mod settings in the game - I have tried changing the ini(s) manually (like stated below) but new games never start with more than 1 of each.

Not sure why it isn't working anymore for me.

Can’t work on the base game anymore.

@sin the fix still works. For those who want to change the starting staff amount, just open the XComStartingStaff_Settings_Defaults.ini file in the Config folder and change the lines below from 1 to any number you like. it works on save games too

[StartingStaff.StartingStaff_Settings_Defaults]
+NumStartingEngineers=1 <--- change to any number you like
+NumStartingScientists=1 <--- change to any number you like
+ConfigVersion=1
