Deadlylag's High DPS + Control Build
由 Deadlylag 制作
Lichdom is very hard on the default difficulty (battlemage) and most players will rage quit on the second boss. This guild will show you how to build a very high DPS single target and AOE character. You play the build like you do with a twitch shooter, similar to Doom, Quake, Team Fortress, etc. Mobility is life for this build. It cannot tank and you will never use block/nova. This guild will not work for you if you can’t maintain constant movements in battle.

Introduction
This build is all about high mobility and high DPS. Let me stress mobility because if you stay still you will died. The build can’t take much hits. You have to constantly spamming blink (space bar). It is a combo heavy build and in order to work you have to cycle through your three powers. The majority of time it will only take one charged fireball or AOE lightning to kill mob. Boss and mini boss will of course take a little longer.

There is the control variation to this build which gives your more control over the mob at the expense of higher DPS. I will list the control variation on the guild.
Build Section

Shield:

Agile. Agile allows unlimited blink. Blinking is your main defense. It allows you to get distance and dodge effectively. With Agile you can spam blink/teleport (spacebar). So blocking (right click) will not be use at all. You will keep blinking forward, sideward, backward, etc. Constant blinking (do not hold the spacebar to charge it) will make the mob difficult to hit you. Keep hitting the spacebar. Primary Stats: Shield Health. Secondary Stats: Shield Regen.

Fire:

Target + Destruction: This is your single target spell that will do high DPS. Missiles + Destruction (damage). There are no variations because it is your primary single target kill spell. Primary Stats (other than damage): Fast Charging. Secondary Stats: Fast casting.

Pool + Destruction: This is your AOE fire spell (left + right mouse). It is design to kill rooted mob. Does massive damage overtime as long as the mob remain on the fire. Primary Stats (other than damage): Fast Charging. Secondary Stats: Increase Status Duration.

Pool + Control: This is the control variation. Unlike Destruction version the mob will still take damage over time (DOT) if they move out of the fire. It kill slower but don’t have the drawback. Primary Stats (other than damage): Fast Charging. Secondary Stats: Increase Status Duration.

Both AOE are great for killing root worms. Hit it with debuff first. Charge the AOE up. Blink in and place the AOE on the worm. Blink back into cover and wait for it to die.

Lightning:

Target + Mastery: Primary Debuff. Debuffing the enemy increase damage the enemy takes. Basically Missiles + Mastery. There are no variations because it is your primary debuff. Primary Stats: Fast Casting. Secondary Stats: Increase Status Duration.

Area + Destruction: This is your primary AOE instant kill spell. As long as the enemy is debuff it will one shot most enemies with a charged hit. There are no variations because it is your primary AOE kill spell. Primary Stats (other than damage): Fast Charging. Secondary Stats: Increase Crit Damage.

Kinesis:

Target + Mastery: Debuff and root target. Debuff stacks so using lightning and kinesis will increase damage. Primary Stats: Fast Casting. Secondary Stats: Increase Status.

Target + Control:
This is the control version. Levitate and do damage on ground slam. On crit (hit by charged damage spell or a crit roll) the enemy will slam to ground and do splash damage. Primary Stats: Fast Casting. Secondary Stats: Increase Status Duration.

This is the core difference between the two build. The Mastery version root the enemy and debuff. However teleport enemies can escape the root or able to fire back. The Control version will levitate and do damage when it wore off. The Control version prevent enemies from moving and they cannot hit you back. Both versions will work on all minions, mini boss, and some end bosses.

The control version is very good. It buys times at the expense of damage. With the control build you have to use lightning target mastery for the majority of time as your only debuff. If you’re having problems or not sure of the build go with the control version. It will make life easier. The Control version have the ability to lock everything down.

Pool + Mastery: Mass rooting. They can’t move and is debuffed. They can still teleport or ranged attack you. There are no variations because it is your primary crowd control. Primary Stats: Fast Charging. Secondary Stats: Increase Status Duration.
How To Play
It is very important to keep moving and teleporting while in combat. Do not hold down the spacebar. Tap the spacebar to do short teleport. This will be enough to dodge most incoming attacks.

You can mix and match on attack combos but the last spell in the chain must be damage (Fire: Target + Destruction or Fire: Pool + Destruction or Lightning: Area + Destruction). I usually start with:

Kinesis (Target + Mastery/Control or Pool + Mastery) to root the enemy(ies).
Lightning debuff (Target + Master).
The last spell will be charged destruction, either Charged Fire: (Target + Destruction or Pool + Destruction) or Charged Lightning (Area + Destruction).

Combat Tips:

Always move and blink.

If you are cornered blink (spam) toward enemies. In almost every cases you will not get hit when you blink past them.

Distance is your friend.

Always charge your destruction (damage) spells because with the debuff you will one shot most minions without shield.

Spam debuff.

Lightning: Area + Destruction can kill an entire group with one shot as long as you debuff the group first, ie (Kinesis Target + Mastery and/or Lightning Target + Master).

Use object to block line of sight. Charge your spells. Blink out of cover, release your spell, and blink back into cover.
Crafting
The Crafting system in Lichdom is bad. Very hard to understand for new players and craft materials are not well shorted out. Not only that the wording can confused a lot of new players. To make thing even worst crafting is the core part of the game. It just bad and there really no defense for it. There other guilds to teach you crafting so I won’t go into it in dept.

Do not use Smart Crafting. It’s not smart and you will end up behind. Manually craft the the spell from your Custom Inventory. If you use Smart Crafting you will not have the correct material for better spells.

When your Sigil level you will have a point to upgrade it from the smart crafting section (Sigil Upgrades button, only show when you have leveled). Always pick increase crit damage first, then go for base damage. Max Sigil level is 16 which will allow you to pick all the upgrades.

I can’t stress enough to always manual craft. Even if you find all the loots you still do not have enough to craft all your spells to the current mission level. This can be very bad near the last mission where mob can one or two shot you if your Shield is not up to date.

Always Always make sure your shield is upgraded. Try to get as much health as possible for the augment (slots) because you will need every shield points. With the exception of the last mission each bar should withstand at least one hit so you will have a chance to regen the shield. 90% of the time you will not lose a bar shield due to constant blinking. If one hit take an entire shield bar down than you know you need to upgrade ASAP.

As a rule of thumb always upgrade your shield (manual crafting). Get as much augment (slots) for the shield as possible. Having 3 slots is better than having one because you can add more health and stats.

Fire: Target + Destruction, Lightning: Target + Mastery, and Kinesis Target + Mastery/Control is your primary upgrades. Upgrades these first before the others.

Good Luck!

After many deaths, this is pretty much the way I went. However, I did add a TK control to charged blink so that critters I wanted to blink away from couldn't chase me. I'm so good I only rage quit 100s of times before I discovered this, and it was still hard as ♥♥♥♥♥ and took very precise execution. When the patch with the multiple difficulties came out, I was surprised at how hard the default difficulty was. I used to be pretty good in my youth, but I probably wouldn't have tried this on battlemage diff if I'd'a'had'a choice in my aged state.

Ok, you say that "most players will rage quit on second boss" and you're right, I'm basically doing that now. This guide doesn't help me against him AT. ALL.

I. Don't. Have. Access. To. An. Instant. Blink. Shield.

As far as I can tell, no mobs respawn. So I also can't recraft any spells.

I have a fire ray and ice pool, are the ONLY spells crafted, other than that I just have the defaults. And basically no crafting ingredients left.

HELP!?!?!?
