How to: Find Inspect link of ANY skin you Traded or Sold on Market.
Bởi Nickers
Best way to find your very first knife, skins that you regret trading / selling or any memorial CS:GO skin.
Also this method can be used to track accounts that get scammed items.

First let's try to cut some corners...
If you have used CSGO.exchange you should try to check if you have this item in Inventory history and check item's history.

But there might be no history for your inventory or this item.

well, if that didn't help...
Let's try to find Inspect link of item ourselves!
IF ITEM WAS SOLD ON STEAM MARKET:
  1. You need to find your item in market history:

If you don't want to manualy check all market history pages, I suggest to use this Chrome extension: Steam Market History Plus[chrome.google.com] (Depending on the size of your history it can take a long time)

  2. Next use Ctrl+Shift+I [in chrome] to open Inpect window.

Or right-click on needed items name and press 'Inspect element'.
Inspect tool of your browser should open.

  3. Make sure you are on "Elements" tab of Inspect tool.
Press Ctrl+F and search for "rungame".
    That's the items Inspect link.
    (It's inside of "hover" element)

  4. IMPORTANT: In order to get correct inspect link you need to hover with you mouse over the name of item you want to find like this:

  5. Find this part and copy inspect link from here! (inside href="")

Example:
steam://rungame/730/76561202255233023/+csgo_econ_action_preview%20M4800345177931084064A36001674929D14883377421505215594

Yay! You found Inspect link!
IF ITEM WAS TRADED:
  1. Open trade History:

    a) Open your inventory

    b) Open Trade offers

    c) Go to Trade history page (NOT INVENTORY HISTORY)
You can skip trade history to wanted time, by changing timestamp in url: tradehistory/?after_time=1451588400 To change date use this[www.unixtimestamp.com] or google "Unix timestamp"

  2. This is where things can get tricky.

    a) Use "Ctrl+Shift+I" [in chrome] to see code, or right-click + 'Inspect element'. (Get trade #)

Some people got confused over this step, so here is some explanations. You need to hover your mouse over name of item you are looking for. Then right-click on it and select "inspect element". (Or whatever it's called. Lowest option in dropdown menu) Developer tools of the browser will open. There, in "Elements" tab HTML code of the page will appear. And a some part of HTML will be highlighted (selected). Code that you need to copy will be inside a block that is above highlighted / selected part. Also, If you get code like this: "historydb96877efb91c96b0be7dd62d31b808b4ccf92e1_item0" You are in "Inventory history" page, you need to go to "Trade history" page!

    b) Use "Ctrl+U" [in chrome] (Command+Option+U for Mac/iMac/OSX) on the same page! Separate window with source code shoul open.

    c) (In that new window) Use "Ctrl+F" to search our items ID (Command+F in Mac/iMac/OSX)

    Consider this:
    • You should be logged in ACCOUNT ITEM WAS TRADED FROM.
    • You need to find very last trade of that item.
    • (X) and (Y) in trade(X)_givenitem(Y) are the same for every page! So you should "open source" of history page with needed trade.

(If not, you will find WRONG ID and Inspect link won't work)

  3. We got item-ID, try to find your gun on csgo.exchange

    Use this link:
    csgo.exchange/item/[put_item-id_here]

  4. "Item not found on database" Solution:

Go back to the page where we found ID (step 2 of this segment) use "Ctrl+F" command on that page and search for ID, look for a similar block as on the image. You need to find this "D" number (copy numbers after the D).

Now we can make Inspect Link.

    You will need:
    • Your steam id.
    • Item-ID (we found it at "2)")
    • Last thing we found (it was with a D at start)
You'll need SteamID64 of account item was scammed/traded from. SteamID64 version always starts with "7". You can use this site to find it: http://steamidfinder.com/. (google "find steam id")

And finally copy all numbers we found to this template:
    steam://rungame/730/76561202255233023/+csgo_econ_action_preview%20S[Put_your_steam_id_here]A[Put_Item-ID_here]D[Last_step_"D-number"_here_pls]

Here's example link to give you an idea of how it should look in the end:
    steam://rungame/730/76561202255233023/+csgo_econ_action_preview%20S76561198005125706A9107333516D5668491138869972132
VIEW YOUR SKIN USING INSPECT LINK
To view your item in-game you can just open url in browser (just click url or paste it in search bar)
You need to have CS:GO installed for that to work.

If you don't have CS:GO you can use these services:
  • 3d.cs.money (3D model)
  • cs.deals/screenshot
  • broskins[broskins.com]
  • metjm[metjm.net] (closed)

Inspect link doesn't work!
If inspect link you made with this tutorial doesn't open or you can't get a screenshot (but other inspect links work) then inspect link is invalid. But from what i know Inspect links can't expire. Even if Item ID have changed it still shows correct weapon. So you must have made a mistake. It might be wrong Item, steam account or just incorrectly combined link. Try going through guide one more time and check every step.
FINDING ACCOUNT THAT OWNS OUR SKIN NOW
It IS possible, but it's not guaranteed.

First check wear value of skin in-game, or use one of these links:

You can use wear value to search for updated inspect link and new owner
"New owner" is not actual last owner, it's more like "Inventory in which your item was last seen in". Updated inspect link also contains updated information about applied / scratched stickers

Services you can use to search for your items:

Also, if you found your skin by Float value, you can find it's owners history using new Item_ID in this URL:
Last hope...
If you made it this far into this guide most likely your item is in a private inventory of some banned/inactive account. There is no way around it, so my best advice is to give up.

Last thing you can do is very hard and most likely won't work.

And it is asking last known owner for his trade history.

1) If item have any owner history on it (except you) you can start with last one.

2) If there is no history on it - find profile you traded/sold your item to.

Trade history:

Market history:

Try to add him, ask for help and history for your item if you are lucky enough you will find next owner. Then repeat until you find last owner or a deadend.

If it's a trade bot there is nothing you can do. Most likely no one will bother to check it's history.

There is a solid chance, that you won't find current owner like that, but don't be sad, atleast you can look at your old skin one more time and hope that it'll get into open database someday.
DOs / DON'Ts
There is alot of people who struggle with my guide here is a list of things you should try to do and things you want to avoid doing.

DO:
  • Read the guide carefully. I've placed alot of notes that address most common issues people have.
  • Tell me in the comments which part you didn't understand or got stuck on and why.
  • Take a break and try again from the start!

DON'T:
  • Write in the comments that guide doesn't work anymore if you have no idea.
  • Try to add me or ask for help with your specific case.

I just tried this, ure awesome for sorting this even for newbies to HTML etc!

I'm trying to buy back my first unboxing, wanted to ask if steam://rungame/730/****76561202255233023/ <-- this long number is the same for everyone or did i have to find/use my own?

i ended up with steam://rungame/730/76561202255233023/+csgo_econ_action_preview%20S76561198929625044A37340024571D16609500345913502088

(16609500345913502088 the D number, 76561198929625044 steam ID, 37340024571 Item ID/step 2)

which sadly hasnt worked for me so far, it didnt work on the 3D site either/csgo exchange etc

my unboxing isnt listed on my d.csfloat items, maybe its on a trade ban like my recently sold knife that isnt showing up there?

id love to know if i should 1. try the inspect link thing again if it is wrong 2. to try again in a week 3. give up for the forseeable if its in a private inventory 4. how to find the float number :(

To my knowledge correct inspect links always work. So if it's not opening in CS it's wrong.

Meaning you should find item you are looking for in Trade History and do everythin from that hisory page.
After you copied trade id you open source code of the same page and look for it in search
