Gameplay tips concerning eveything
Hi all,

this is my first Guide so take it easy on me for I don't really know what might be important to most players , and as English is my second Language forgive me some misspellings. So let's get started shall we.

Tasks:
First I'll start with the basics the first thing you should do is go Hunting as in the beginning food is hard to come by. Note that DAYTIME is the best for any task as it has no subtraction/penalty when doing so. So send you guy out on a hunt, as often as it takes untill he has a mission sucsess noted on the left of the screen in your overview pannel. Food should go up by 1 or 2. Then send you guy on a secounting mission to discover new locations.
Day 2, as soon as it is morning you should for the first time visit the "city" you can do so by selcting deploy from the roster in camp you can now either choose to go to Woodfield city or a scouted location. Right now I wouldn't waste my time going to the scouted locations as the have the same 5 phase cooldown as the city does and you don't really find anything important.

Scaveging,
while your in the city for the first time what you wanna look for is weapons all sorts, your charakter can carry 3 weapons at a time. ! long barrel , 1 pistol , 1 Melee weapon, and a backpack. The backpacks are really hard to come byand i have found them everyware housing, warehouse, on the street. But they are very scarce, especially the large backpack. I have found a good amount of simple or small backpacks a few med and so far only 2 Large, not sure if there is something bigger yet, maybe they will introduce a "special" coloured backpack like a tramping or military version which could be bigger.
for the option that you have trouble finding a backpack which can be the case, focus your scaveging on Materials (metal , medicine etc) as these are need to upgrade your camp.
The second most important are the as i call them "Lottery Materials" those little black boxes that look like toolboxes. here you can carry up to 20as a stack. These are need for crafting and in parts alos construction. I call them Lottery Materials because you don't know what you get till your back at base camp. there they tell you what you got out of them. These can litteraly be found anywere except in houses. you can find them in building sutch as warehouse construction sites etc. but not in living houses. One of the best spots for these matrial boxes is the Busstation alot can be found here.
The best place for the normal Matrials that are named and can only carry 1 per slot can also be found anywere except houing buildings.Don't forget to check the little sometimes hard to spot "hardware stores" and sutch they often contain someting.

Weapons, the best spot to get lucky on any weapon is the roadblock in the mddle of the city, there are 2 on both ends of the streets check everything here. Humvee, tents , and buildings next to the roadblock. They contain everything from weapons to ammo. A spcial notice to the rear of the humvee sometimes the weapons "fall though" the humvee and are on the ground beneth the Humvee, so walk up realy close and aim your mouse to the ground sometimes it will highlight something that you might not see.
Also don't forget to walk close by any police car you see as they usually have ammo and weapons scattered about.

Melee weapons can be scattered about the place but which 1 you want to look for is the fireaxe it is far bettter than any other melee weapon i found so far. A grey fireaxe has more power than a legandary metal pole or sutch. so if you find 1 take it.Melee is onyl recommended for the "normal zombies" as they can be killed in 1 or 2 blows with the fireaxe others might take up to 4 hits but don't use any ammo. You can do combo's as i founf out by first pressing either 1 or 2 nd mouse button and then the concluding other. say you start a hit with button 1 than press and hold mouse 2 for a round swing or sutch. these might only become available after you used skill points to upgrade you strength, not sure though. try it.

Ammo, basicly the section weapons but they can be found anywere including housing buildings, and a very good source for ammo are weapons you don't need. Let's say you found a green or blue Pistol, any see a grey 1 laying on the ground. Pick it up and unload the ammo into your backpack, this can help on the ammo count.

Building your camp,
the first thing you should go for is the farm , as this will give you a daily food supply, the second is storage. for these you need the "named matirials (wood.metal etc.) so thats why these are the most important. then upgrade living quarters to 1 so you can start taking in survivors, as of today it is easier to find buildings whcih have survivors as the now have blankets out of the top winds or some other sort of marking to indicate that if you want additional survivors you can find them in that building. Talk to them and they will join your group after you return to camp. next i would go for the kennels, as they give nice bonuses on all tasks which you can do giving bonuses to sucsess of the mission. only as last I would start building and upgrading the radio tower. You need lvl 2 radio tower to be able to send your scouts on further journeys and therefore being able to find better sites.
So far I haven't been able to "deploy" to the higher lvl found sites, I believe they are not yet moddeled, but they can be scavanged as a task instead of deploying to them.

Upgrades
don't foget to use these as they will benefit in many ways , some are really simple but give good starting bonuses like rationed supllies reducing food consuption and sutch. Go for them when you feel you can. But don't waste to mutch on them before you have built your other basic camp needs.

Zombies
so as up untill nowI have discovered 3 types. Your normal walker doing nice groning sounds slow weak and utterly stupid. easily dispatched of using pistols or Melee weapons. Don't use your long weapons on these except maybe the shotguns. Second "The crouching Witch", this 1 has 1000 HP so don't try and bash her head in with a baseball bat or she'll rip you to shreds.realatvly fast but the worse part a low profile as she walks on all 4's making aiming a bit harder. As with all try and aim for the head, as your dmd of your weapon is multiplied by 10.The witch has a different high pitched creeking moan witch mean you can tell her apart from the toher walkers, she usually has sort of light hair(blodish/♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ clour) making her a bi different then the other female roamers.
and Last the "Gobbler" as I call him, a huge and for a zombie fast son of *§%$( , loud distinct low sounding growl that makes him stand apart from all the rest you can defently tell this guy apart. He is as of now the meanest. he has around 5000 HP meaning even for longarms weapons this is a hard 1 but worth the effort of killing since he has drops , mostly 1 weapon and 1 MOD for weapons which are very scarce. MY recommendation is only attack this guy if you have a high dmdg pistol sutch as the 357 Magnum and a good deal of ammo or a assault rifle with 1 or 2 FULL MAGS. otherwise this guy is capable of ripping you to bit in a second. He is extremly fast for a walker (his jog is faster than yours) meaning you need your sprint to put any distance between him and you.
My tactics for a start , feel free to very if you like, from far away 6 x 357 aimed at the head, when pistol is empty dont bother with reload switch to long barrel and in short contrulled burst to the head. this is a good way of getting him. and ONLY open fire when your sprint is full, as you might need to get the distance to be able to shoot again.

Charakter Lvling

For now go for Agility and Endurnce mainly, these are the most important.

Ain't allowed to write more words. So Hope this helped you, will update as game continues to evolve.

Thanks for this, biggest issue I have just now is that even though i have built the workshop I cannot find how to craft things like makeshift weapons, ammo etc.

using a epic moded 357 pistol now went I hit skyway (7 rounds, 1100damage/head shot) so it make witches a 1 shot take out, and goblers a 5 shot kill. also I always try to get on top of a car, or a crate before attaking the goblers, since you are 100% safe once you get on top of about anything. Still looking for a large backpack thoe.

A wonderful guide. I was wondering how to deal with the "Gobbler." The first time I encountered him I thought that the game was bugged as he didn't die even after ten rounds of 9mm to the head! Thanks for the help!
