How To Fix "Unknown Steam Error" when changing levels

In Darkest Hour 6.0 we've fixed the error players seems to get when a server changes levels. However, if you currently have 5.1 installed, the fix isn't applied to you, you must edit your settings file to get the fix.

This guide will help you edit your Darkest Hour settings file so you can appreciate the fix. You do not need to follow this guide if you just fresh installed Darkest Hour 6.0 or do not get these errors.

Opening Your DarkestHour.ini File

To open your DarkestHour.ini file you'll want to navigate to it's location. First make sure to close out of the game or editor if they are running.

Open the steam library
Right-click on Darkest Hour Europe '44-'45 and click properties
Under the "Local Files" tab hit "Browse Local Files..."
Go into the "DarkestHour" folder by double clicking it
Go into the "System" folder by double clicking it
Now find the "DarkestHour" settings configuration file and open with notepad (you can also click edit)

You should now have the DarkestHour.ini file open like this:

Making The Edit

Now that you have the DarkestHour.ini file open we can begin to edit it.

Go to Edit > Replace... (you can also hit Ctrl+H)
Type "ROInterface.ROConsole" after Find what:
Type "DH_Interface.DHConsole" after Replace with:
Click Replace All
Close the Replace dialog
Save and Close the file

Congratulations you fixed your settings file!

If you are running Mac OSX the location of darkesthour.ini is ~/Library/Application Support/Red Orchestra/DarkestHour/Sytem

Linux and Mac I belive may use a different location and file type for their settings. I'm neither a linux or mac user. Try looking in the general settings folder for that directory?
