DarkLight (v.56)

描述
DarkLight is an overhaul mod that changes the way you play Torchlight. The main focus of DarkLight is resource management. Items don't just rain from the sky any more. Monsters don't drop regular loot anymore. All you'll find is gold.

Everything thing you need to survive you will have to buy, and it won't come cheap. In vanilla Torchlight, your gold supply is nearly inexhaustible. In DarkLight, you will have to save every hard earned piece, and you better pray you don't die before you get to spend it, because if you die: you lose all of it. Resurrecting now costs all of your gold and always takes you back to town, so you'd better keep those scrolls of town portal handy (oh, and they're going to cost you, too).

To stay alive, you'll need to make sure you're always fully stocked on potions because those don't rain down from the sky anymore either, and your pet can no longer go to town to buy items for you. Once you leave the safety of town, you're on your own.

The classes have been overhauled too. All classes have access to all of the passive skills, but have lost all of their active skills. Active skills will have to be bought as spells from the blacksmiths in town. Because you have access to all skills, the Classes' charge abilities have been merged together. When you reach full charge, you will enter into a very powerful state where all of your attacks are guaranteed crits, you move and attack faster, and all of your spells' costs are refunded. Making use of this very powerful state is your key to surviving combat in DarkLight.

Full list of features:
No random drops from Monsters and chests (except bosses and special chests).
Your pet can not go back to town.
You can only resurrect in town.
Resurrecting costs all of your gold.
All classes have access to all passive skills.
Passive skills have tiers now (thanks to Tiered Passives).
Active skills are now spells that can be bought from vendors (thanks to RnF Skills as Spells).
All items are completely randomized (thanks to LAO Chaos Edition).
Fame can now reach level 50, and the total Fame required to reach each level is reduced.
Classes' Charge abilities have been merged into one Super Charge ability.
Added Recipes for combining 3 gems into one of a higher quality (thanks to Ember Gem Upgrade).

So there's a bug or something where when I unlearn a skill, and try to learn the same skill of a higher rank, it just won't let me do it. It makes the "click" sound and won't learn it. That really kind of kills the whole thing, when you can't use the skills in the later game that you had been in the early game. I statted up shotgun mastery and practically depended on Rapid Fire and now I can't use it? This bug makes it completely unplayable past act 2....

@matex, I think, vanilla ones only

which classes skills are buyable?
Vanilla ones or modded ones as well.

I will try this, but I think occasional potion, scroll, socket gems, and items would be nice.

I'll repost with my findings!

Bad idea, HeyPinkiePie. You should always play the vanilla game first, so that you have a baseline of comparison when you play mods.

I originally did have sparse potion drops in chests and champions, but it still wound up giving out too many. I instead changed potion drops to give you extra gold so that you are, in effect, given more potions, but you still have to go back to town to buy them (and not die in the mean time). Finding potions in the wild gives you some relief and makes you feel a little bit of hope that you can hold out a while longer. I want players to be constantly fearing running low on potions and losing their gold. ABANDON ALL HOPE, YE WHO ENTER HERE. Or something like that.

Charge Mastery, Frenzy Mastery and Charge Domination. I bet EVERY build here will have those 3 maxed ASAP :P. Anyway, I am having great fun, it's challenging in a good way (although i'd add a very sparse potions drop). Thanks for a good work!

I just hit level 15, and I'm loving this mod. Granted, it can feel a bit grindy if you lose your gold and need to upgrade your gear, but I've had a lot of fun actually playing. I feel like I can really make each build unique, as I can pick from any of the skills now. Thanks for making this!
