You ever... you you, hey, is your G-menu too full? Can't find what you're looking for? Does that conveyor even match that connector?!
There's got to be a better way!

Now there is.

With support currently for over a hundred mods and counting, the SI Disambiguator sorts all your mods into convenient, easy to find categories that, above all else, are intuative and just make sense. You know, for idiots. No macros or scripts were used to categorize these mods, because I was too lazy to write one. Each was hand placed by judgement call to focus on the primary utility function of a mod block, regardless of what <typeid> it happened to use.


Categories include:

ALL Access : You're here, and I want you to go there. Why? You bore me.
ALL Aesthetics : Anything completely devoid of practical utility function. Go stand over there.
ALL Amenities : Some times you have to take a crap. In space.
ALL Armour : Getting shot sucks. Especially in the liver. Put these between you and bullets.
ALL Control : Did you F with my seat settings?
ALL Engineering : Power, like microverse batteries. But not flux capacitors, or whatever you'd say. You can't just throw scifi terms around and hope it means something.
ALL Industry : Grind it up baby!
ALL Lifesupport : Stay out of that cryogen pod! That's where I keep the... important... um. F-it, it's just vodka. My vodka, not your's.
ALL Logistics : Movin stuff around.
ALL Materiel : Ship! Keep Summer Safe!
ALL Mechanical : This is mostly beneath me. Because you usually put tires and landing gear under the ship. See what I did there?
ALL Operations : All the back end crap I haven't showed you. Maybe when you're older. Ha ha! Psyche! Just kidding.
ALL Propulsion : They make it go. It's not rocket science. I mean, it technically is, but for me, per the layman's colloquialism (that's you), it's pretty simple.
ALL Science : You wouldn't understand.
ALL Signage : I make my own stuff, so I don't need this, but useful to guide thieves to an airlock or something instead of your cargo.
ALL Storage : How's that for a segue? The afore mentioned cargo.
ALL Structure : It's important to remember which side of the armor to put this on.
ALL Upgrades : I don't typically have to upgrade anything I build because I'm not a hack. Others may find this useful, however.

So just come on down to..the place... I've got... Eh. I just got bored. Everybody out.

bloody hell.. iv'e done a lot of manual sorta copy and paste scripting/coding stuff so goodness gracious do i know how tedious and not to mention how time consuming that can be :q thanks for what you have done with this so far anyways and thanks for the heads up on the new mod, will for damn sure be checking it out!

@MachoNatchoMan is right, I haven't looked at this in over a year. I'm really sorry about that guys. I kind of need to do a full rewrite, which I'm hoping to do at some point, and hopefully, make a script that can add items to categories to automate some of that tedious work. The way I built this the first time, I was manually opening mod files, opening their sbc files, and reading the XML and copy pasting the relevant parts manually to SID's sbc file. I'm hoping to be able to work on this again sometime before the end of the year.

hia, just letting you know, it is definitely very rather outdated/incompatible atm as there are many mods that do not show in the categories at all nevermind correctly, there are items that aren't where they are supposed to be as well i believe, hope you get around to updating it soon as i'm missing it quite much

one thing though, don't know if you've fixed it since i last played years ago or what but all the tabs from this mod are grouped where as before they were sorta just willy nilly slapped around to some degree so no need for a more specific tab i guess :p

also about that 'tag' idea i posted way back, just to further the suggestion if i may, maybe plopp a '[SI-D]' at the start of each tab/category it adds. would make looking for them a looot easier when having many mods from many different authors

it would be oh so much appreciated by me at least as iv'e just got back into space engineers with some friends and god i forgot how much i hate the vanilla way of listing blocks.. i mean it does not even find everything that it should sometimes with text searches, and then you've got blocks that are just name #gibberish#-Swarmer or whatever so searching "rocket" or "Missile" does not help at all :p having concentrated menues of all the stuff grouped is so damn helpful :q thanks for even just considering it though :) best luck either way whatever ya decide to do!

It needs updating *badly.* I haven't touched it in years, but I've had a few friends pestering me about it, so I'm strongly considering coming back to it.

and the helm group does not show all cockpits :/

also i just put it in my server and is seems to work almost fine, it does not list any AWG weapon mods along with the others in the "All materiel" section and also some other stuff, no idea why exactly. it also lists most of the mods from Mexpex Warfare but does not list one or 2 turrets from the same mod.. very strange.. KEEN, YOU BASTARD!

i also really wish there was a kind of tag in front of all the block tabs made with this mod so i would know easily what tabs i want to look at seeing as i literally have 3 pages of block groups in the list... :| price of 114 mods i guess.. especially when this mod is somewhat broken, i assume.. best of luck to anyone who wants to and can update this wonderfull mod!
