NOTE: I THINK IT IS A TAD MORE FUN IF YOU LEARN STUFF YOURSELF!

You have a couple of different things here, GRAZE, RISK and the shields (666 I think they look like on the UI).

GRAZE: You have a shield round your character, if the fruit touches your shield you absorb the fruit and gain GRAZE charge. When you hit full charge, you'll be glad.

RISK: I think this works by constantly attacking the enemy, it makes your shields spin faster so it's easier to block bullets.

[Lukeman: RISK seems to be actually based on how close you are to the boss or how far away you are from bottom of the screen.]

If you have a high enough risk, you can graze and spin the fruit machine, get three in a row and you increase your bomb time.

666: It's like a basic SHUMP style shield/bomb, removes all bullets on the map for a while.

lol sorry i fixed it

I'm the type of person who holds down the shoot button at all times, I guess that's why I never noticed it filling without damage.

RISK fills even without shooting: It starts to fill at a constant rate as long as you stay past certain point of screen (going closer to the boss doesn't seem to increase the rate), but if you go back below the line, RISK starts to rapidly drain. Basically, when dodging try to not go too far behind or you lose RISK.
Also I made a typo in my previous comment, if you keep that quote in the guide, could you fix the "act au lly" into "act ua lly"?

I'll test it out, it sound like you could be right. I'd figure while you'd hit the boss/enemy more accurately, increasing RISK, you'd expect the bullet speed to stay consistent if you're further away but are constantly hitting your target.

The other 2 sections I've tried seem simple enough.
