Ever wonder what all those graphic settings really mean? This guide takes a look at them, giving a short explanation of each.

Graphic Settings
  1. Resolution - Game display resolution.
  2. Display Mode - How Storm United will be displayed. There are currently 3 display mode options: Fullscreen, Windowed [Fullscreen], Windowed. Linux users running multiple monitors are encouraged to use the Windowed [Fullscreen] display mode.
  3. Screen Percentage - Controls the render quality; maxing will display 100% same resolution as your set display resolution, any less may improve performance at the cost of quality.
  4. Anti Aliasing Quality - Smoothes edges of objects at a cost in performance.
  5. Texture Quality - Controls texture quality.
  6. Effects Quality - Controls effects quality.
  7. Post Processing Quality - Controls visual quality such as bloom, depth blurring, portal distortion, character lines, light rays, and selective scene tinting.
  8. Shadow Quality - Controls quality, intensity, and abundance of shadows.
  9. Gamma Correction - Controls display brightness.
  10. Grain Effect - Adds grain filter to visuals.
  11. Ambient Occlusion - Shading and rendering setting for how exposed each point in a scene is to ambient lighting.
  12. Motion Blur - Streaking of rapidly moving objects.
  13. Max FPS - Sets to a certain max frame rate.
  14. VSync - Short for Vertical Sync, VSync synchronizes the frame rate with the monitor refresh rate for better stability.
  15. Stat FPS - Displays number of frames being rendered per second and the amount of time taken to render the frame in milliseconds (ms).
  16. Stat Unit - Displays overall frame time as well as the game thread, rendering thread, and GPU times.
  17. Smooth Frame Rate - Smoothes out overall frame rates at a cost in performance.
