Game Modes
Angels Fall First currently features two differnt game modes, Incursion and Territories.

Incursion
Incursion is an asymetric game mode, where the attacking team has to destroy or capture certain objectives throughout different phases, while the other team has to defend those objectives. Fullfilling all objectives of one phase will proceed the battle to the next phase. If the time runs out, the defending team wins.

Territories
This is the classic domination style mode. There are a number of neutral objectives than can be captured by either team. Owning a point fills up your teams percent bar over team, more points fill it up faster. The first team to reach 100% wins.

Deployment
Regardless of the current game mode, each map will start with spawning each team into its deployment room. The game will not start until at least 40% of all players are ready or the deploy timer runs out.
Ready up by pressing "F" in the deploy zone (the door where you spawn).
You can also start a briefing for the current map by pressing F at the console near the holo tank:
Also an armory with a firing range can be found down the corridor to the left:

Choosing a commander
Right after deployment you will have to vote for a commander. Your vote will got to MILNET AI by default:
The Map

The map can be zoomed by using the mouse wheel, moving the mouse while pressing "Mouse 3" will rotate the map.
Your own position is always the center of the map (red arrow). Squad members are marked by blue circles around them (green arrow). The chevron on top of a unit indicates its status as squad leader. Current orders are shown by orange lines (blue arrow).

Overview

The list of available spawn points is located in the upper left corner of the maps screen (red arrow). On the right side you can find a list of the current objectives (yellow arrow) and a list of the current squads (blue arrow). On the lower left corner you can find a bar of buttons to navigate through various screens like the loadout screen or the squad screen (green arrow). Directly on top of that you can see who currently is commander as well as start a vote to eject the current commander ("MUTINY"). On the lower right side is the deploy button as well as a button for changing teams ("DEFECT").

Spawning

Before being able to spawn, you will have to select a spawn point first. Choose a location from the list of locations. For example this can be capital ships, stations or dropships. After selecting a location you will se a list of available deploy points at this location. Select one of those and you are good to go:

Here you can see the starboard hangar point of the USNV Swift selected. Note that it is also named on the map now and the Deploy button is now grey. You can also select deploy points by directly clicking on them on the map.

The UI
When spawning into the game the first time your screen will probably look something like that:

Press "I" to show more info on-screen:

Now you can see all objectives, friendlies and spotted enemies on your HUD.

Status

Top right corner: Your health and armor indicator. Armor can be repaired using the repair tool, health can be restored by dropping Medikits.

Bottom right corner: Weapon status. Current number of bullets in magazine / max. number of bullets in magazine. Number of remaining magazines is indicated by grey rectangles next to the big number. Also shows the current fire mode.

Objectives

Capture point currently held by the own team.

Capture point currently held by the enemy team. Capture progress is indicated by the yellow bar on the bottom.
When attacking an objective, the current status will be shown in the middle of the screen above your crosshair:

Squad & Orders

Top left corner: Status of current squad members. Also orders of current squad members if advanced UI is toggled.

Bottom left corner: Current order.
Also indicated by a yellow arrow in the UI:

Targeting / Spotting
By pressing "G" you can target the current Unit under your reticule. This will also spot enemies and show you their health, along with some info at the lower left corner:

Loadout
You can customize your gear at the loadout screen:

Your loadout consists of your suit and 7 slots for different eqipment. As long as you don't exceed your maximum Requisition points (red box), you can customize those slots as you wish. You can also change the color of your squad stripe (marked by yellow box), save or load loadouts (marked by blue box) and customize gear with attachments (green box).

Requisition Points
As AFF does not provide any classes, loadouts get balanced by using requisition points. Each piece of gear has its own point costs in one or more of the three categories: Combat, Command and Support. The combined Requisition points cost of all your gear may not exceed your maximum number of requisition points.

Slots
There are 7 slots for gear:
1 - Melee: Knives
2 - Sidearm: Pistols, also the repair and revive tool.
3 - Primary: Main weapons like assault rifles, shotguns and AT-weapons
4 - Secondary: Same as primary
5 - Explosives: Throwables like grenades
6 - Kit: Support gear like ammo boxes or medikits
7 - Kit: Same as 6 - Kit
Progression
"Leveling up"
You can raise the maximum number of Requesition Points available to you by ranking up in their corresponding category:
Combat Points: Killing enemies and dealing damage
Command Points: Issueing and following orders
Support Points: Repairing, healing and using support assets like ammo boxes
Doing those action will be rewarded by gaining XP of the corresponding category. This will be indicated at the right border of the screen:

If you get enough XP in a category, you will rank up and gain more maximum Requisition points for this category. You can check your progress at the career screen after each round:

This screen shows you the number of points earned this round (yellow arrow), total number of points yet accumulated (green arrow), current rank (blue arrow) and number of points needed for the next rank (red arrow).

Score
After each round, your score will be displayed:

The scoreboard will be ranked by total score, meaning your combat, support and command points added together.
Vehicles
Apart from small space craft, you cannot deploy vehicles by yourself. When having accumulated enough score, you may get an vehicle assigned to you (on ground missions) or you may get the possibility to spawn on and pilot a capital ship (space missions).

Vehicle Commands
You can open up a command menu for your vehicle, where you can issue commands to your turrets like "Hold fire" or "Attack my target":

Ground Vehicles
Using ground vehicles you can switch seats using the "N" and "M" keys. "," and "." will change the camera. Use "ALT" for freelook.
You will first need to gain enough score to get access to vehicles:

After gaining enough points a prompt will inform you that a vehicle drop is available to you:

You can select the vehicle as a new spawn location:

Select it and deploy, you will get dropped onto the battlefield in your vehicle after choosing your loadout.

Space Craft

Use "ALT" for freelook, "Z" fires your countermeasures. "W" and "S" controls your throttle, "Q" and "E" will roll your ship and "A" and "D" can be used to strafe. Flying Space Craft will show another piece of UI:

The vertical red bar to the right shows your current throttle setting, the round red bar your current speed. The round grey bar shows your afterburner fuel ("SHIFT" for afterburner). Your current flightmode is displayed at the top. The yellow round bar indicates your current armor value.
Lock-on missiles will require you to keep the firing button pressed to aquire a lock. Release the button to fire.

Capital Ships
Frigates and Destroyer are only available to you if you have aquired a high enough score. When available you can choose them under the "WARP" location:

You will also receive a note when dieing and a capship is available to you:

You can only spawn on a friendly Destroyer, if it belongs to a squad member of you!
Remember that your frigate also acts as a forward base for your them, where they can spawn Fighters and Bombers!
Teamplay
AFF relies, as many other team shooter, on teamwork to achieve victory. AFF features some tools to help you coordinate your efforts with other players.

Squad Screen
The Squad Screen is accessible from the map. Here you can request to join a squad, invite others to your squad or accept a pending squad invite.

Commands
If you are Squad Leader, you can use the "C" button to open up the command menu.

From there you can select your squad members individually or all at once and issue commands. The command on number 1 is usually context sensitive about what you have currently targeted ("G"). For example, you can use it to tell your squad mates to attack your current target, or capture your currently targeted objective.

You can also select units and issue orders using the map. Remember, your squad mates are marked with circles around them!

Communication
Use "T" for Teamchat and "Y" for global chat. Use "B" to open up a voice command menu.
Advanced game mechanics
Some of AFFs advanced mechanics explained:

Boarding Capships & stations
You can only board by using dropships. Those can be found at the Destroyer hangars, though they will only be available if there are also currently valid boarding targets available.

Those targets are:
- Enemy capships or certain stations in Territories mode.
- Stations or capships if required by objectives in Incursion mode.
These targets will be indicated by a symbol when piloting a dropship:

Get close enouth to the indicated point and a prompt will appear asking you to push "F":

After docking another prompt will apear asking you if you want to redeploy for boarding. If you want to keep piloting the Dropship, just wait, if you want to board along with the infantry, press "F1". You now have 10s to get to the rear of the dropship, before it decouples the boarding module and flies away:

Reviving downed allies
If an allied soldier is downed and bleeding out, but not dead, you can get him back on his feet using the repair & revive tool found at the sidearm slot.

Capturing Landing Zones
When playing ground missions, you will find landing zones as capturable objectives:

Capture those and a friendly dropship will come by and drop a new spawn pod:
