It is Source 2 alright, it's built into Dota 2 Reborn. However it isn't reverse compatible so all Source 1 files will need to go through conversion. ....aaaand it doesn't have Source's eye posing, what good it is if all your characters can't move their eyes? (Dota 2 characters use morphs to move model vertices to simulate eye movement)
The map had many, many, MANY animated props plus volumetric lights (mostly trees and leaves). Even though the map itself is very small, SFM's decade-old optimization can really put pressure on the framerate and processing power. I was to move to SFM2 but sadly it lacks many custom content and is without eye posing.
I made them! They are slated for workshop release on the 1st day of November.
