There is a shop called the Gathering in Lambda Mall that sells clan related items such as the Clan Charter and Clan Bank Slots.

The Clan Charter sells for 1000 bits and will be added to your inventory under the gear tab.

Open your inventory and locate the Clan Charter in the gear tab. Right click the item to open the charter dialog window.

Enter your desired name in the space provided and close the window.

To create a clan you need to ratify your clan charter. It will take 4 signatures to accomplish this.

Once you have entered a name on the clan charter you can click on the item to see an updated description indicating that you need 4 signatures to create your clan.

DO NOT log off during this phase or the charter will be removed from your inventory and you will have to purchase the item again and start over.

Click the Clan Charter item in your inventory with a player targeted as if you were trying to interact with them. They will see a popup dialogue box they can use to accept or decline (I do not have the exact verbiage).

After your first signature is obtained your item description will update indicating the need for 3 more.

Continue gathering signatures until the last one is obtained to complete the process.

The default key to access clan features is the U key.

After collecting all the necessary signatures you will be able to access the clan options screen to set the message of the day, add a clan description and other features.

In Early Access I was not able to set clan ranks but you can view a list of members from your social window by using the default O key and selecing the clan tab. By clicking member names you can promote, demote and other clan related features. By default it appears the following ranks are available:

• Clan Leader
  
• Officer
  
• Veteran
  
• Member
  
• Trial

Also of note, it appears that the clan description does not persist after closing the clan window.

After successfully creating your clan you should see a new option in your portal book.

You should be able to access your Clanland from any portal just like you would your Uspace. I highly recommend checking it out - it is pretty awesome!
