Time ingame vs real life
Time

Time is different in real life and Euro Truck Simulator but with help from this guide you will be able to calculate your time in real life.

Remember GPS estimation journey time is INACCURATE

Why should i do this?
  • Helps you plan and join convoys
  • Helps you understand how long journeys take
  • Helps you organise convoys for day or night
  • The ingame calculation is not very accurate
  • Helps organise yourself on a daily basis
How does it work ?

From this we can tell

Scenerio

Also remember
  • Distance = Speed x Time (Real)
  • Time (Real) = Distance / Speed

Here are the details:

Time (Actual) : 12:00am/pm (ingame and real time) - Relevent
Time (Real) = Distance / Speed = 500 / 50 = 10 hours - Relevent
Time (Estimated) = 16 hours ingame from GPS - Not Relevent

So how long does this take :

Real Life
In Game
600 seconds / 10 minutes
60 minutes / 1 hour ingame
6000 seconds / 100 minutes / 1 hour 40 minutes
10 hours ingame

Finally

So from this we can tell the journey should finish at

10:00pm (ingame) - And from this we get an accurate time of arrival ingame opposed to the inaccurate system in Euro Truck Simulator 2.
1:40pm (real life) - And from this you can organise your convoys to meet up with nearby events

if i keep the engine running and just stand still on a usual road, 1 ingame minutes passes by in 2 real time seconds. how does this fit into this table?

while i can't quote a source, i THINK 30 minutes or less from delivery end is considered "on-time".
btw, thanks for the guide. i was wondering if i had estimated correctly for 1 hour equals 6 minutes real time.

Good question, i know late delivery is anything over the time in which the offer expires but as for early or on time deliveries we could research into this.
