K-2 Stargazer

The sucessor to the XR-16 Archimedes, the K-2 became established as the main recon force for the fleet.

Redesigned to support long range missions, the 'stargazer' features an enhanced jump drive, excessive oxygen storage, a larger interior space and a defensive armament of 3 gatling turrets and 2 rocket launchers.
This light armament when coupled with her impressive 5 large thrusters makes for a superb high speed assault. Though her less impressive maneuvering thrusters make for a wide turning circle which must be taken into account during an attack.

So she weighs in at 1.5 metric tons and handles like it, but more space equals more weight.
The hull has been built out to give an open interior, a second jump drive has been installed, the piping is out of the way camera's have been added in all directions and we have weapons so you may survive.

I realise she's been classed as a Corvette even though she's closer to a cruiser in all aspects except the fact that she's not combat based, she's recon so play nice :)
