XBOX 360 controller mapping
I'll list the mapping you should use to mimic the XBOX 360 version. As the game doesn't recognize the 360 buttons names, I'll also put in parenthesis the name of the button displayed in-game.

Forward : Left Analog Stick Up (Axis LY-)
Backward : Left Analog Stick Down (Axis LY+)
Strafe Left : Left Analog Stick Left (Axis LX-)
Strafe Right : Left Analog Stick Down (Axis LX+)
Walk : Leave it empty, the character walk or sprint depending of how much you push the left analog stick when moving.
Jump : A Button (Btn 1)
Crouch/Roll/Gallop : LB (Btn 5)
Lean Left : D-Pad Left (PoV X-)
Lean Right : D-Pad Right (PoV X+)
Fire : RT (Axis 3-)
Melee : X Button (Btn 3)
Reload : LS Button (Btn 9)
Quick draw : RB (Btn 6)
Zoom : RS Button (Btn 10)
Switch Weapon : B Button (Btn 2)
Holster : D-Pad Down (PoV Y+)
Throw weapon : LT (Axis 3+)
Action/Grab : Y Button (Btn 4)
Health Up : D-Pad Up (PoV Y-)
Camera Up : Right Analog Stick Up (Axis 5-)
Camera Down : Right Analog Stick Down (Axis 5+)
Camera Left : Right Analog Stick Left (Axis 4-)
Camera Right : Right Analog Stick Right (Axis 4+)
Pause : Start Button (Btn 8)

Note : If you want the names in parenthesis to appear in-game, you should map your controller in the "Primary" tab. Mapping it in the secondary tab is possible but the game only display the inputs of the "Primary" tab in the texts in-game.

Once you're done with the configuration, the game will now use the same controller layout used on the 360 versions (and also the other versions, PS2 and Gamecube versions use more or less the same layout).

The options menu approach worked briefly, before my controller stopped being recognised. So I resolved this by:
• making sure my controller was on
• launching steam (not in big picture mode)
• then next to PLAY button, which launches game, click on the controller symbol
• if you don't see controller symbol try re-connecting your controller.
• I then chose "Nightbreeds XBOX 360 scheme for GUN". Also lowering the mouse sensitivity to 100%, from the 275%.
• then click PLAY to launch game.
• from here you navigate the menu using the right stick as the cursor and right trigger to left click.
• I also lowered the sensitivity of the mouse in the options to it's lowest too, but see what works for you.
• I re-mapped the crouch and zoom buttons to R3 and Left Bumper, but again, whatever works for you.

Well i still cant5t find a mod that just enables controller support like GTAs ginput mod.

This is an old post and all but, is there a way to bind the menu controls? or is just mandatory to use mouse there?

hey just want to say that the xbox one controller layout works! you have to default everything when you go to controller settings. other than that it works for me yall.:steamthumbsup:

ok, so first this is a great guide, thanks for this. However in the process of trying to set up the game by doing all t his, the game will not react at all to the XBOX controller I am using. I go into the controller settings, IN THE GAME, and when I attempt to assign a button to a particular setting nothing happens. So am I missing something. I've seen on here that it has worked for other people but not for me, so what's the actual process for custom setting up the controller in game?
