Luckily I found a way to beat v1.55. NOTE: You really need to play this on Easy difficulty to pull this off! Anyway here's how you do it:

1. After getting the GAS CAN and FLASHLIGHT in the very beginning of the game, immediately head to the GENERATOR and activiate it. Don't pick up any pages as this will make Mark Slender chase you.

2. Go to the HOLY CAVE and after the cutscene, grab the key to RESTRYCT C. On your way to RESTRYCT C make sure to grab the FUSE located in the HOLY CAVE. Afterwards, get to RESTRYCT C.

3. Save your game BEFORE the monster scene in RESTRYCT C. If you keep going on that save (which I've done multiple times, not too hard) you can experience all of the monster combat in Haunted Memories. Anyway, grab the crowbar and then a monster will appear. You can either run from it or fight it. Afterwards exit RESTRYCT C.

4. Upon exiting the bunker you can find another monster in the woods nearby, but it shouldn't bother you. Anyway, go to the shed near the fork in the road (refer back to the main guide) and break the boards down with the crowbar. There you will find the GREEN INN FRONT DOORS KEY. Proceed to the GREEN INN, which is across the path, and enter. BE VERY CAREFUL ON THE STAIRS. Walking too close to the wall usually results in physics glitch which kills you.

5. Walk all the way up to the top of the GREEN INN. Fight the monster and once it's dead you'll find a PISTOL and CODE. There is a pistol ammo clip but there's no way to reload it so don't even bother. The CODE is needed for entering RESTRYCT B, which is just South of the GREEN INN. Head to RESTRYCT B and use the code to unlock the mechanical door.

6. Explore RESTRYCT B and you'll find a key to RESTRYCT A. Pick it up, but don't save the game as dying and reloading that save will get rid of all the monsters. Anyway, there are two fuses to collect in RESTRYCT B: one is in a gas chamber being guarded by a monster, and the second is in a back area beyond some wood you have to smash with the crowbar. This area has two monsters in it; dispatch them with the pistol. Once the two fuses and RESTRYCT A key have been collected, head on over to RESTRYCT A (check the map, it's nearby RESTRYCT C.)

7. Once inside RESTRYCT A, find three slots in a wall under a light post. Put in all of the fuses which will in turn open the door to the POWER STATION in RESTRYCT A. Enter the POWER STATION and there will be some monsters in the lower part of the the room, but they shouldn't bother you. Walk up the boards into the upper part of the POWER STATION until you find the page located at a dead end. Pick it up and some happy music should start playing. Exit the POWER STATION the same way you came in and then run behind the POWER STATION into the TINY LAKE. There will be a large blue light.

8. Run into the light!

I've spoken with Wieprzu, one of the original developers of Haunt/Haunted Memories. The title Haunted Memories was sold to Forever Entertainment S.A. and said company has never updated it as long as it's been in their ownership. It is likely we will never see another update to this game.

Rest in Piece Haunted Memories. The few fans left will always remember the original Haunt as a true masterpiece of horror.
